Description

Conduct Deposition process engineering research, development, and evaluation in support of Lam's cutting-edge semiconductor equipment and systems. Review and enhance processing techniques and methods applied in the manufacture and fabrication of products. Develop and sustain new processes and process improvements to reduce production costs and increase yields. Compile and analyze test data to establish next steps in process development and determine appropriate limits and variables for process specifications. Collaborate internally to plan, collect data, analyze results, and report on customer demos for existing process applications. Contribute to next generation product development and release activities supporting the semiconductor roadmap. Provide leadership, clear direction, and guidance to process technicians to support execution activities. Master's degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with 3+ years of experience; or a PhD with no previous professional experience; or equivalent experience. Hands-on experience in semiconductor process development, with the ability to translate experimental results and process observations into actionable process improvements Practical understanding of underlying process-performance mechanisms, including interactions between process conditions and hardware configurations at the chamber or module level. Strong background in plasma-based deposition (e.g., PECVD), along with experience in thin-film deposition technologies such as ALD, CVD, and/or PVD, including process development, optimization, or evaluation. Familiarity with laboratory environments and experience in thin-film characterization techniques (e.g., ellipsometry, Raman, FTIR, XPS, SEM, AFM, XRD) for process evaluation Knowledge of Material synthesis and material characterization. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and matrixed environment with diverse teams, semiconductor customers, and/or partners. Exposure to statistical analysis, SPC, DOE, or data analysis tools is a plus. Candidates with strong hands-on laboratory experience and demonstrated problem-solving skills in semiconductor process development or related areas will be considered, regardless of years of industry experience.
