As our company continues to grow, we're looking for a Seasonal Technician to join our Grand Rapids, Michigan team starting in December. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in accuracy, and wants to gain valuable experience in a technical environment.
What You'll Do
As a Technician, you'll play an important role in preparing, processing, and maintaining testing equipment. Your responsibilities will include:
- Packing parts, components, and testing equipment for shipment
- Interacting with customers via phone and in person when receiving test equipment
- Processing equipment into our ERA system with detailed tracking
- Cleaning and labeling Type A shipping cases according to DOT specifications
- Disassembling nuclear density gauges down to the component level
- Cleaning nuclear density gauges using hand tools and solvents
- Reading, checking, and verifying equipment numbers and records
- Following written and verbal instructions accurately
- Managing multiple tasks while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines
Requirements
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with their hands. The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent punctuality and time-management skills
- The ability to multitask and stay organized
- The ability to receive, process, and track testing equipment
- Comfort reading and verifying numbers and identifying information
- Experience using common hand tools
- The ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Basic computer skills
- A valid driver's license and good driving record
Physical Requirements
This is an active, hands-on position. Candidates must be able to:
- Lift up to 75 lbs.
- Stand, walk, and sit for extended periods
- Use hands to finger, handle, and feel objects or controls
- Reach with hands and arms
- Regularly stoop, kneel, bend, crouch
- Communicate effectively in person and by telephone
