Position Overview
At Unified Door & Hardware Group (UDHG), our Grinders play a critical role in ensuring the quality and presentation of welded metal door frames. With precision, attention to detail, and a commitment to craftsmanship, you are an essential part of the production process—helping UDHG deliver high-performance door solutions that meet rigorous industry standards.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
Key Responsibilities
- Grind and finish welded frames
- Perform quality control inspections of finished framed while staging
- Staging of completed work
- Assist loading crew in locating and staging of completed work
- Pulling/Staging of stock material to be welded
- Putting incoming stock into racks and shelves
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment
- Follow all safety protocols and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements to maintain a safe working environment
- Use proper lifting techniques
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, safety shoes and clothing
- Frequent use of hands and arms for equipment operation, grasping and manipulation
- Frequent pushing, pulling, lifting or carrying building materials weighing approximately 100 pounds, using proper lifting procedures; and occasionally pushing, pulling, lifting or carrying greater weights. Pushing and pulling carts loaded carts over various distances and surfaces. Some functions may be performed as a team
- Additional physical requirements may be needed as duties are assigned

- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required
- Vocational or technical training in machining or tool and dye making preferred
- Certifications preferred:
- National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS)
- OSHA safety certification
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)

The listed pay range reflects the expected base rate for this position; actual compensation may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and cost of living in the assigned market. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.
