ZEISS Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology
Enabler for smaller, more powerful, and more energy-efficient microchips
Working for tomorrow today.
Around 80 percent of all microchips worldwide are produced using ZEISS technologies. As the centerpiece of every electronically controlled system, they have become an integral part of our everyday lives – whether in smartphones, smart homes or smart factories. ZEISS is a technology leader in the field of semiconductor manufacturing equipment. With high-precision lithography optics, photomask systems and process control solutions, ZEISS enables the production of ever smaller, increasingly powerful, and more energy-efficient microchips, and thus plays a pivotal role in the age of micro- and nanoelectronics.
In this role, you take technical ownership of the Hardware Development Function within our R&D organization. You are responsible for delivering mechanical, electrical (hardware, firmware) and system engineering solutions that meet the highest quality and compliance standards. As a key member of our agile organization, you bridge the gap between strategic product requirements and hands-on engineering delivery.
Your Role
Ownership of the Hardware Function and Backlog, translating Quarterly Planning commitments into actionable sprint scope and deliverables.
Decision-making authority for trade-offs within the Hardware function, balancing scope, quality, and delivery timelines.
Collaborating with Mechanical and Electrical Architecture Experts to ensure seamless module integration and drive commonality across products and platforms.
Responsibility for Function related feasibility assessment and implementation approval within Change Management Process.
Coordination of Certification Execution Plans and Regulatory Requirement Checks in collaboration with the Conformity Expert.
Facilitation of Sprint Planning and Sprint Review meetings for the engineering team, ensuring teams commit to achievable goals and deliver value consistently.
Your Profil
Completed studies in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics, or comparable technical education.
Significant professional experience (8+ years) in hardware development, systems engineering, or R&D environments.
Proven track record in requirements engineering, technical specification, and design documentation.
Experience with product certification and regulatory compliance (SEMI standards, CE marking, safety certifications).
Strong understanding of field installation processes, transport logistics, and system integration.
Experience in agile methodologies (e.g. Scrum) and tools such as Azure DevOps.
Independent, reliable work style with strong conceptual and end-to-end thinking skills.
