Job Title: Production/Maintenance Supervisor
Location: Chatsworth, GA
Job Summary:
Directs and coordinates the activities of production/maintenance employees so that both production/maintenance efforts are achieved in accordance with scheduled requirements.
Responsibilities:
Directly supervise and schedule the production personnel in the performance of daily activities as needed to meet goals and objectives.
Provide leadership and performance counseling as needed to the hourly workforce. Exercise positive reinforcement as well as corrective action.
Prepare and process production documents and maintain records.
Provide front line processes, technical expertise, and problem solving as needed.
Prepare plant production records, including product inventories, production rates, plant recoveries, and quality records.
Follow up and ensure production non-conformance issues are addressed and corrected in a timely manner.
Prepare requisitions, order plant supplies and parts, receive incoming freight and supplies, collect and process related documents.
Provide necessary inputs to the strategic planning and budgeting process.
Participate in supervisor meetings.
Direct safety efforts in the production process through on-site coordination and reporting.
Follow up on all safety opportunities found upon inspection, take corrective actions.
Be a leader in ES&H efforts on site.
Other related duties as assigned by management.
Key Tasks:
Manages the mechanical work force and provides on-site expertise, ensuring the maintenance work is completed efficiently and effectively.
Provides expertise to prepare, implement, and revise the Preventive and Predictive maintenance programs.
Ensures that maintenance is planned, scheduled, and performed in the most cost-effective manner.
Reviews work planning and weekly scheduling with the production supervisors and manager and attends weekly planning meetings.
Ensures all parts and tools are provided to craft workers prior to work being performed.
Maintains equipment availability to meet production demands.
Champions proactive maintenance, encouraging all production and maintenance personnel to turn in found defects to be planned and scheduled using CMMS.
Approves emergency works and reschedules planned work as necessary.
Ensures all data collected regarding work process and equipment is accurate and complete when being entered into the CMMS.
Assists planner in sourcing parts and material as needed as well as scheduling component rebuilds.
Interacts with vendors and assists in finding cost effective solutions to material needs.
Oversee lubrication and PM maintenance tasks.
Manage preventive and predictive maintenance plans for all plant equipment, and revise as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in business, engineering, or a related discipline or equivalent experience
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics:
Knowledge of mechanical maintenance processes, including preventive/predictive maintenance procedures
Proven ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
Good leadership skills
Ability to take direction
Strong problem solving skills
Good written and oral communication skills
Good record keeping skills and basic computer skills
Basic math skills to calculate production rates
SPECIFIC ASPECTS
Physical demands require climbing stairs and ladders, ability to lift 50 lbs.; Exposure to dust, noise, and seasonal temperature changes in an outdoor environment; Extensive walking (over even and uneven ground), standing, bending and lifting. Will be required to rotate weekend supervisor duties.
