Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.
Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.
Our Yield Analysis team plays a critical role in enabling Micron’s next generation memory products and supporting the historic expansion of our Boise manufacturing site. We combine deep semiconductor expertise, advanced analytics, and cross-functional collaboration to accelerate yield learning, improve product quality, and drive manufacturing excellence. Join a team that is shaping the future of semiconductor innovation through data-driven problem solving and continuous improvement.
As a Deviation & Yield Tail Yield Analysis Engineer, you will lead efforts to identify, characterize, and resolve yield loss mechanisms that impact manufacturing performance. This role offers the opportunity to leverage advanced analytics, AI-enabled tools, failure analysis, and model-based problem solving to uncover root causes, drive corrective actions, and deliver sustainable yield improvement across high-volume manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor probe yield performance to identify yield deviations, yield-tail losses, emerging failure signatures, and excursion events using lot, wafer, die, bitmap, and parametric analysis
- Lead MBPS and root cause investigations using hypothesis-driven problem solving, statistical analysis, fault trees, and process correlation techniques to achieve verified physical root cause
- Drive defect characterization and failure analysis activities by correlating electrical signatures, inspection data, EFA/PFA findings, and yield-loss mechanisms
- Partner with Process Integration, Process Engineering, RDA, Quality, Manufacturing, and Failure Analysis teams to implement and validate corrective and preventive actions
- Develop and deploy analytics, dashboards, automation solutions, and AI-enabled workflows that improve issue sourcing, RCA efficiency, and yield performance
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related technical discipline
- 10+ years of semiconductor industry experience
- 10+ years of experience in semiconductor physics, transistor operation, scaling limitations, reliability fundamentals, and CMOS characterization methods
- 7+ years of experience using data analysis tools such as JMP, Python, or similar software
- Demonstrated experience performing data-driven yield analysis and root cause investigations in a semiconductor manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- DRAM manufacturing experience
- 5+ years of experience in yield-tail analysis, yield deviation sourcing, or RDA within a manufacturing or high-volume manufacturing environment
- Experience using AI-assisted analytics to enhance data interpretation, anomaly detection, and yield improvement initiatives
- Experience developing automation, dashboards, or AI-enabled solutions that improve engineering productivity and problem-solving effectiveness
