What is the opportunity?
As Senior Manager Loan Portfolio Management, Business Credit you responsible for designing and executing a transformational, proactive approach to manage the Canadian business credit. You will gather data and analyze same to drive consistent portfolio management activities, governance, and reporting across Sales, GRM, CB Operations, Finance, and National Office groups. Additionally monitor portfolio trends to identify both areas of concern and potential growth opportunities and recommend appropriate actions to implement or mitigate as applicable.
What will you do?
- Design, development, and implementation of a robust end to end loan portfolio management process across the Commercial Banking lending portfolio.
- Use of best-in-class tools to streamline and optimize management routines to maximize discovery and deep analytics, while minimize reporting overheads (i.e., reduce time spend getting data to maximize time spend understanding information & sharing with senior management)
- Collaborates closely with stakeholders across Commercial Banking (GRM, Sales Enablement, Finance, Operations, other National Office Groups) to ensure alignment of portfolio definitions and segmentations to minimize reporting discrepancies across Commercial Banking and proactive participation to portfolio review committee comprised of senior executives in Commercial Banking and GRM.
- Monitoring emerging trends in portfolio quality with a deep understanding of commercial industry sector and regional differences, and different monitoring approaches based on size of exposures
- Seeks understanding of portfolio trends, opportunities and threats, and advice key stakeholders toward their better understanding of such trends/opportunities/threats.
- Seeks out industry trends and organization knowledge to understand alternative approaches / solutions to portfolio issues identified
- Enhance Business Credit loan portfolio management capabilities and develop specialized analytic capabilities through appropriate technologies (e.g., Python, SAS, SQL, Tableau, Power BI)
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- 7-10 years’ experience working with complex and large data structures, preferably in a Business/Credit information environment
- Strong system/software technical skills to make optimal use of the bank’s complex database infrastructure including intermediate/advanced Python, SQL, Power BI, and Tableau.
- Knowledge of BFS credit products, policies, and procedures, preferably working closely with, or in, GRM
- Strong foundation and extensive experience with designing and building complex portfolio monitoring systems utilizing leading-edge tools and techniques
- Superior analytical skills with ability to analyze trends, provide insight and uncover information
- Strategic mindset and vision for sound portfolio management practices with proven ability to act proactively and independently
Nice-to-have
- Proven competency in planning, organization, and project management
- Experience with SQL Server and Teradata/Data Lake infrastructures
