As an Infrastructure Engineer (GOV) within PNC's Tempus Technologies organization, you may be based in a remote location. This position may not be available in all geographic locations.

We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Engineer to support and modernize our federal IT operations. This role requires deep expertise across both traditional on-premises environments and modern cloud platforms, with a strong focus on cloud migration, infrastructure architecture, security, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will play a key role in transforming legacy systems, ensuring operational resilience, and maintaining adherence to federal cybersecurity and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities
• Design, implement, and support hybrid infrastructure solutions spanning on-premises and cloud environments.
• Lead and execute cloud migration initiatives, with preference for experience in Azure Government or AWS GovCloud environments.
• Configure, manage, and optimize virtualization platforms, including VMware and Hyper-V.
• Implement and maintain Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions, including Active Directory and Azure Active Directory (Entra ID).
• Ensure infrastructure and operational practices align with federal compliance frameworks, including FedRAMP, NIST, and FISMA requirements.
• Monitor infrastructure performance, availability, and capacity, proactively identifying opportunities for optimization, scalability, and security enhancement.
• Partner closely with cybersecurity teams to implement and strengthen Zero Trust security principles.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, developers, and cross-functional stakeholders to successfully deliver project objectives and business outcomes.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and operational standards.

Qualifications
• Strong expertise in Windows Server, Linux, and core networking concepts.
• Experience with infrastructure automation and scripting using PowerShell, Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools.
• Knowledge of backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning and implementation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and technical documentation skills.
• Experience supporting federal government IT environments.
• Practical knowledge of government compliance and security frameworks, including FISMA, FedRAMP, and NIST standards.
• Hands-on experience deploying and managing workloads in Azure Government Cloud or AWS GovCloud.
• Industry certifications such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, VMware, Security+, CISSP, or related credentials.

This position may be eligible for remote work in select geographic locations, subject to approval by PNC. If approved, work must be conducted from a quiet, secure, and confidential home-based workspace. Occasional in-office participation may be required based on business needs.

  • Analyzes the technological needs of customers and provides ongoing support for clients.

Pay Transparency

Base Salary: $86,250.00 – $172,500.00

Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company, business and/or individual performance.
