At RTX, the world's largest aerospace, and defense company, 185,000 great minds are united by purpose and inspired to make a difference solving the world’s most complex problems. With our three market leading businesses, world-class operations and investments in research and development, we offer capabilities and opportunity no one else can. Together, we push the boundaries of known science and find new ways to connect and protect our world.

The Advanced Airborne RF Sensors department within the Space and Airborne Systems Engineering and Test Capability (SE&TC) Center is seeking a Systems Engineer I to support the Advanced Programs portfolio works on requirements, design, and production of an existing product line focused on delivering the necessary capacity at the right time.

Test is currently not optimally defined for our factory flows resulting in poor test yields, long test cycle times, over test, extra paperwork, and extra rework. This new focus to address these issues will require systems engineers to streamline functional processes to support program acceleration and influence holistic transformation to rewire how business is conducted with customers, suppliers, and internally at Raytheon.

The new paradigm shift will require manufacturing tests to pivot away from traditional design verification tests that measure product performance and instead focus on whether the product was built to its production specifications. This manufacturing validation test is required to meet increased delivery schedules and still deliver a reliable and quality product.  This transformation will focus on the following areas: supplier capacity, factory automation, digitization, reduce test cycle time, capacity optimization opportunities, obsolescence, test equipment enhancements, test yield improvements, test coverage at the right level of assembly, test coverage analysis, requirements reductions, and factory modeling and simulation.  This is an onsite position located in McKinney, Texas.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide technical guidance and support to Engineering Integrated Product Team Leads (IPTLs)
  • Manage diverse tasks, requirements and commitments and interface successfully with numerous disciplines
  • Prepare and present results in reports and briefings to internal or external stakeholders
  • Schedule and lead periodic team meetings, interface teleconference meetings, working group meetings
  • Support associated with implementing process requirements
  • Develop and execute test plans, including test simulations and lab tests to verify system capability.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and experience working with systems requirements, executing verification plans, performing, or planning System Integration and Verification and Test
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Active DoD Secret clearance
  • Advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Experience working on the production phase of a program and knowledge of manufacturing validation of testing and test optimization
  • Design Verification Testing and Environmental Testing
  • Requirements Management experience, including the decomposition of requirements; specifically using digital engineering tools such as CAMEO and DOORS
  • Decomposition of System Requirements
  • Manufacturing Validation Test: The minimum set of tests to detect manufacturing caused defects at the lowest process level that ensures a safe, reliable product while meeting Takt requirements
  • DSI Express Tool
  • SmartSim/FSIM
  • Correlation of first pass yield rates within failures in manufacturing validation testing
  • Familiar with Theory of Constraints within production lines and factories

What We Offer:

  • Our values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world. At RTX we value: Trust, Respect, Accountability, Collaboration, and Innovation
