Description
New Wave Design is seeking an experienced Senior IT Manager to lead our technology environment and help shape the next stage of our IT strategy.
This is a high-impact leadership role with responsibility across IT operations, cloud, cybersecurity, compliance, and emerging technology. You'll ensure our technology environment remains secure, reliable, and scalable while helping NWD modernize our infrastructure and thoughtfully adopt technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and automation.
As an Aerospace & Defense company, security and compliance are central to how we operate. You'll play an important role in advancing our cybersecurity program and supporting requirements such as CMMC Level 2, NIST SP 800-171, CUI, ITAR, and DFARS.
At the same time, we're looking for someone who sees technology as more than infrastructure. You'll work closely with executive leadership and teams across NWD to identify how cloud, AI, automation, and other emerging technologies can improve the way we work and support continued business growth.
Salary Range:
$129,500.00-$183,200.00 annually

Requirements
Lead IT Strategy & Architecture:
- Develop and execute NWD's IT strategy and technology roadmap in alignment with business objectives and growth plans.
- Provide leadership and technical direction to NWD's IT resources and external technology partners.
- Ensure the reliability, availability, performance, and security of NWD's infrastructure, networks, endpoints, cloud environments, and enterprise systems.
- Lead technology modernization, system upgrades, migrations, integrations, and other major IT initiatives.
- Manage technology vendors, licensing, procurement, lifecycle planning, and the IT department budget.
- Maintain effective backup, disaster recovery, business continuity, documentation, and technology standards.
Advance Cloud & Cybersecurity:
- Guide the evolution of NWD's cloud environment, with an emphasis on AWS and AWS GovCloud.
- Establish appropriate cloud architecture, security, governance, access, monitoring, backup, and cost-management practices.
- Lead the continued maturity of NWD's cybersecurity program, including CMMC Level 2 and NIST SP 800-171 requirements.
- Ensure technology decisions appropriately address CUI, ITAR, DFARS, and other applicable Aerospace & Defense security requirements.
- Support cybersecurity assessments, audits, corrective actions, security documentation, and evidence.
- Partner with internal resources and outside experts when specialized cybersecurity, cloud, or compliance expertise is required.
Lead Practical & Secure AI Adoption
- Help develop NWD's strategy for the responsible adoption of Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, automation, and emerging technologies.
- Partner with business and technical leaders to identify practical opportunities where AI and automation can improve productivity, engineering support, knowledge management, business processes, and decision-making.
- Evaluate AI platforms, tools, and technology partners based on business value, security, scalability, cost, and compliance.
- Establish appropriate AI governance and safeguards for proprietary, customer, CUI, ITAR-controlled, and other sensitive information.
- Stay current on emerging technologies and help NWD determine where experimentation and investment can create meaningful business value.
IT Leadership & Operations
- Serve as a trusted technology advisor to executive leadership.
- Translate technical risks, opportunities, and investments into clear business recommendations.
- Partner across Engineering, Operations, Finance, HR, Sales, and other teams to understand technology needs and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Balance security, compliance, usability, cost, and business needs when making technology decisions.
- Support NWD's industrial security program and Facility Security Officer responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in IT, infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, technology leadership, or a related discipline.
- Experience leading or having significant ownership of an organization's IT environment, technology roadmap, or major technology initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise infrastructure, networking, cloud technologies, identity and access management, and cybersecurity fundamentals.
- Meaningful experience with public cloud technologies; AWS experience strongly preferred.
- Experience operating within a secure, regulated, compliance-driven, or similarly complex technology environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex technology initiatives involving multiple stakeholders and/or external technology partners.
- Working knowledge of AI, Generative AI, automation, or emerging enterprise technologies and an interest in leading their practical adoption.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, project management, vendor management, and communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
- AWS GovCloud
- CMMC Level 2 and/or NIST SP 800-171
- CUI, ITAR, DFARS, or FedRAMP
- Aerospace & Defense or Department of Defense environments
- Cybersecurity assessments, audits, or compliance programs
- Infrastructure as Code, DevSecOps, or cloud automation
- Enterprise AI, Generative AI, LLM, RAG, or AI-enabled business solutions
- AI governance or secure adoption of AI within regulated environments
- Facility Security Officer (FSO) or National Industrial Security Program (NISP) responsibilities
- AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Security, CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or similar certifications
Physical Parameters:
- Must be able to lift and carry 20 pounds.
