YOUR MISSION
- Source and develop new materials / suppliers based on Brand / BU requirements. The focus for this role is from Trim Concept through to “Buy Ready” approval - in time and in support for the seasonal garment development phase. This will involve working closely with Design and regional trims suppliers with pace
- Research material trends and present market relevant trim concepts to Design and Product development teams at material design stage to ensuring cohesive material stories, across BU’s
- Manage the selection of the most appropriate trims and suppliers (Location / Lead-time / Quality / Performance and Price). Manage time line execution on trim developments. Strategic new trim development needed business case to support. Maintain trim library for new collections, seasonal & approved trim standard.
- Approve BASE Test reports for each trim and issue Material trim reference code for base trim (construction) / versions (Sizes / Finish). Resolve / filter borderline performing trims prior to uploading into the material “Buy Ready” system. Validate Trim RSL compliance (with effective dates). Update and verify FULL trim specification in Material Repository (which is input by suppliers)
- Color Lab Dips Approvals for Non-Vertical Trims. Sense check ALL CARRY OVER trims for their continued physical and colour fastness performance and RSL compliance (with effective dates) – as these may have been “Conditionally Approved” during the previous season
YOUR TALENT
Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Textile, Fashion, or a related field
Minimum 3 years of experience in material and/or trim development within the apparel, accessories, or related industries
Strong knowledge of trims, including heat transfers, labels, zippers, elastics, drawcords, snaps, and other garment components
Solid understanding of material/trim construction, development, commercialization, testing, and supplier management
Ability to independently manage development projects and collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
Good proficiency in Microsoft Office
Fluent in English, both written and spoken
