POSITION PURPOSE 

 

The Global Mobility (GM) Specialist is responsible for the regional delivery of global mobility governance and consulting services to People Partners and Line Managers across their designated region, on all Global Mobility matters. This role will respond to GM queries/requests and help facilitate and manage international job moves into and out of their region, in alignment with the C&W policy and best practice. Key skills required to be successful in this role are exceptional communication skills—especially in a virtual environment, strong connection and relationship skills that enable and educate People Partners and managers on GM policies and practice.  This role reports to the aligned regional People Services Director but has a matrix reporting line to the Senior Manager, Global Mobility. For the Americas region, this role will also have responsibility for the management of the US domestic relocation program, advising People Partners and Line Managers against the local policies.  
 
The Global Mobility Specialist will utilize the relevant technology to manage GM cases and store employee relocation data. And will utilize this data for metrics and reporting analytics.  

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Own end-to-end case management for regional employee moves (intake → assessment → delivery → closeout) 

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employees, managers, and People Partners on mobility inquiries and triage 

  • Apply global mobility policy and regional legal/tax/immigration requirements accurately; flag exceptions and risks early 

  • Coordinate vendors (immigration, relocation, tax, payroll, destination services) and hold them to SLAs, quality, and timelines 

  • Provide clear guidance on costs, approvals, required documentation, and expected timelines to stakeholders 

  • Maintain accurate case documentation and data in the case management/HR systems; ensure audit-ready files 

  • Partner with Reward/Payroll/People Services to execute changes correctly (pay, allowances, benefits, deductions, reporting) 

  • Manage issue resolution and escalations, including stakeholder updates and root-cause follow-up 

  • Monitor compliance and employee experience across the lifecycle (privacy, record retention, policy adherence, service quality) 

  • Produce regular reporting on volume, cycle time, spend, exceptions, and risks; recommend process improvements 

  • Support regional rollout and adoption of global mobility processes, templates, and communications 

  • Contribute to continuous improvement: identify recurring friction points, propose fixes, and standardize best practices 

  • NA only - manage the end-to-end process for U.S. domestic relocations, covering policy development, vendor coordination, and complete move management. 

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS 

Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree (HR, Business, International Relations or similar) or equivalent experience 

Experience 

  • 3–7 years of Senior HR operations or global mobility experience (in-house mobility, relocation, immigration, or a mobility services provider) 

  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent cases with tight deadlines 

Preferred  

  • Experience coordinating vendors and cross-functional partners (tax, payroll, comp/benefits, HR ops) 

  • Exposure to regional immigration and employment considerations (partnering with counsel/vendor, not acting as counsel) 

Knowledge 

  • Strong policy interpretation skills and comfort managing exceptions via an approval process 

  • Data privacy and documentation discipline (GDPR/record retention mindset) 

Preferred 

  • Working knowledge of mobility lifecycle components: relocation, immigration, tax briefing, comp/allowances, payroll impacts, benefits coordination 

Skills 

  • High-touch stakeholder management (employees, managers, People Partners) with clear, calm communication 

  • Strong operational execution: prioritization, follow-through, risk/issue tracking 

  • Analytical comfort: interpreting mobility data, spend, cycle time, exceptions; identifying process improvements 

  • Strong written communication (emails, guidance notes, case updates) and documentation quality 

  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel/PowerPoint/Teams) and HRIS/case management tools (Workday exposure a plus) 

Core competencies / behaviours

JOB PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • Involves work of a general office nature; typically includes extended periods of sitting and/or operation of a computer for up to 8 hours a day 

  • Regularly required to talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to write and type 

  • Ability to speak clearly so others can understand you 

  • Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented orally and in writing 

  • Ability to communicate information and ideas in writing and orally so others will understand 

  • Regularly required to utilize vision abilities, allowing reading of printed material, graphics, and computer displays

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate’s experience and qualifications.


The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.


The compensation for the position is: $ 55,250.00 - $65,000.00
