Team Accountabilities - How we work:
The Data Management & Configuration team is a key enabler for Rolls-Royce to maintain the transparency and integrity of the definition data for all our products. This is achieved through:
- Identification of configuration items in design documents and their recording and accounting in relevant Configuration Management systems as basis for control and reference.
- Establishment of configuration baselines (i.e. bills of material) for all products and their controlled change through the creation of modifications.
- Set up and control of all product structures and control of all product components in the Configuration Management system in interaction with other departments.
- Responsibility for the Product Change process and associated Change Control Boards.
- Technical release of design documents to preserve document integrity and provide protection against unauthorized change.
- Management of Mass Properties of all product components.

Junior Engineer (m/f/d) – Mass Properties Management
Responsibilities
- Maintain, analyze, and monitor weight and mass property data for components, assemblies, and product configurations to ensure compliance with weight, performance, and programme targets.
- Create mass property data using preliminary design methodology or detailed geometry definitions.
- Perform weight analysis, forecasting, and risk assessments based on technical data.
- Generate reports and decision-making bases for other engineering functions and programme teams.
- Ensure data quality and cooperate closely with different engineering functions to support product changes, process improvements and optimization measures in Mass Properties Management.
Qualification:
- Degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering or a comparable engineering discipline.
- Strong analytical skills, technical understanding and interest in complex products.
- Fluent language skills, written and spoken: English; German language skills are optional.
- Good organisational, presentation, communication and negotiation skills.
- Confident MS Office skills (especially Excel); Experience with CAD systems and data analysis tools is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel occasionally.
Junior Engineer (m/f/d)– Configuration & Product Change Management
Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage product configuration data, bills of material and product structures.
- Ensure data consistency, traceability, and quality of product and configuration information throughout the product lifecycle.
- Support the management of product configuration baseline definitions and configuration changes.
- Maintain product data in the Product Lifecycle Management systems and the assurance of controlled and traceable implementation of product changes.
- Cooperate closely with other engineering functions, assembly planning, aftermarket services, programme organisation, supply chain and others.
- Conduct configuration reviews and generate status reports
- Continuously improve processes, data quality and efficiency in configuration management.
- Manage and coordinate Product Change Control boards and document the results.
Qualifications:
- Degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering or a comparable engineering discipline or business administration.
- Strong analytical skills, technical understanding and interest in complex products and product structures, technical documentation and configuration management.
- Fluent language skills, written and spoken: English; German language skills are optional.
- Good organisational, presentation, communication and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of MS Office, experience in using Product Lifecycle Management systems and programming skills is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel occasionally.
