SUMMARY: This position will be responsible for the implementation and execution of the Distribution Planning Managers overall business plan. The planner will interact closely with internal sales, customer service teams, Distribution Centers, third-party warehouses, plants,  and Transportation Team Members to solve problems such as late orders, weight/cube deficiencies or excesses, and problems involving delivery appointments while at the same time ensuring Tysons’s service standards are achieved.

This position's daily responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Creating optimal distribution solutions to ensure customers requirements are met.
• Achieve lowest cost solution in combining LTL orders for a specific geographic region or locations.
• Providing distribution solutions that meet government regulatory requirements.
• Respond to and resolve time-sensitive issues.
• Directing, guiding, and developing Management Support Appointment Coordinators Team Members in the process of load planning scheduling of delivery appointments and customer service.
• Coordinating with sales and credit teams to resolve order credit issues
• Performing other duties as the need arises.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION: A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent of related work experience preferred.

EXPERIENCE: 1+ years’ Experience preferred.

COMPUTER SKILLS: Intermediate computer skills knowledge of Microsoft Suite software ability to prepare standard spreadsheets and presentations.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable speaking and presenting in small group settings.

SPECIAL SKILLS: Critical thinking and problem-solving skills; strong computer and system skills ability to manage multiple tasks and participate in a cross-functional environment. Understanding of government regulations and standards as it applies to transportation. Commitment to continuous improvement. This position provides functional guidance for other members of its work unit to complete assigned work.

TRAVEL: Possible travel for training purposes.
