At Monzo, our mission is to make money work for everyone, which means ensuring our products and services are available whenever our customers need them.
As an Operational Resilience Manager for Monzo Bank Limited (MBL), you will focus on the day-to-day coordination, execution, and operational maintenance of our resilience requirements and artefacts within the UK.
You will support operational resilience within Monzo in alignment with global operational resilience policies and standards, working closely with the Senior Operational Resilience Manager to ensure we remain resilient.
🔑 What You'll Spend Your Time Doing…
- Important Business Services: Executing the identification and review of Monzo's Important Business Services (IBS) and mapping their underlying dependencies across people, processes, technology, facilities, and third parties.
- Monitoring Impact Tolerances: Supporting the monitoring and tracking of Monzo's Impact Tolerances, collecting metrics, and flagging potential breaches to key local stakeholders and global owners.
- Scenario Testing: Supporting the execution of Monzo's entity-specific scenario tests for severe but plausible disruptions, and coordinating Monzo's participation in wider, multi-entity global stress tests.
- Supporting ICAAP & Risk Assessments: Coordinating operational inputs into Monzo's Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP), mapping operational disruption scenarios to capital/liquidity implications and supporting stress testing models.
- Business Continuity Maintenance: Coordinating Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Testing within Monzo, assisting business areas in maintaining, updating, and regularly testing their response plans.
- Governance Committee Support: Supporting the operation of the Global Operational Resilience Forum and providing inputs into Monzo's Risk Committees through data-driven operational resilience updates.
- Policy Operationalisation & Compliance: Assisting Monzo business areas with the practical application of global resilience & continuity and incident management policies.
🤩 We’d love to hear from you if have …
- Proven experience in an operational resilience, business continuity, or operational risk execution role within UK financial services.
- A strong practical understanding of UK regulatory frameworks (PRA/FCA operational resilience rules) and familiarity with ICAAP operational risk components.
- Hands-on experience executing dependency mapping, updating business continuity plans, and supporting scenario tests alongside cross-functional teams.
- A proactive, collaborative approach to embedding a resilience culture, with the ability to engage confidently with senior leadership and risk committees.
- High attention to detail and a hands-on approach to tracking operational metrics, actions, and regulatory deliverables in a fast-paced environment.

📍This role can be based in our London office, but we're open to distributed working within the UK (with ad hoc meetings in London)
