Description
The Attendant collects, records, and deposits camping fees, laundry machine fees, and dumping fees at the campground. Performs reservation duties for shelter/pavilion rentals as needed. Performs assigned and related duties as required.
General supervision by the Parks Superintendent
PHYSICAL DEMANDS (*WITH OR WITHOUT ACCOMMODATIONS):
Prolonged standing, walking, sitting, bending, stretching, transporting heavy loads, climbing, pushing, pulling, and twisting.
EQUIPMENT/TOOLS USED:
Telephone, computer, adding machine, copier, fax machine, vacuum, and other equipment necessary to effectively perform the duties of the job.

- Greets park visitors as they come into the office and is accessible to the public while on duty. Answers questions and informs visitors of rules and regulations.
- Answers the office phone, transfers calls, and relays messages or instructions as needed.
- Schedules/takes reservations for campsites and shelters if applicable.
- Collects fees for camping sites and shelters.
- Turns in and verifies money collected as assigned.
- Keeps a daily record of campsite occupancy updating the list accordingly.
- Prepare a daily deposit as assigned.
- Occasionally may be required to take the deposit to the City Clerk's office or pick up needed supplies.
- Assists in the ordering and stocking of supplies and materials.
- Assists in the operation of events and the facility as directed by the supervisor.
- Assists in cleaning the office and restrooms.
- Assists in collecting and discarding the trash in the office and facility.
- High School graduate or GED equivalent.
- Valid driver's license.
- Knowledge of customer service, general office, and secretarial procedures.
- Spelling skills, basic accounting skills, and the ability to communicate effectively.
- Knowledge and ability to collect and verify money collected.
- Ability to maintain accurate records, files, and organization skills.
- Communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to use with staff, public, and supervisor.
- Ability to work effectively with other department personnel.
- Skilled in customer service and public relations and the ability to use tact and restraint in dealing with the general public. Ability to resolve issues that may arise.
- Ability to operate motorized vehicles safely.
- Ability to understand written and/or oral instructions.
