Qualifications
- Must have experience in maintenance, electrical, plumbing, painting, and
general repairs. - Maintenance courses are preferred.
Job Duties / Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical building systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot building maintenance problems and determine appropriate corrective actions.
- Repair and replace plumbing fixtures, faucets, valves, drains, and related components.
- Perform permitted minor electrical work, including replacement of lighting components, switches, receptacles, and other fixtures.
- Repair and maintain doors, locks, hinges, cabinets, drywall, walls, and other building components.
- Perform painting, surface preparation, drywall repair, patching, caulking, sealing, and general finishing work.
- Inspect mechanical rooms, building equipment, and building systems, identify deficiencies, and document findings.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely to perform maintenance, adjustments, and installations.
- Complete scheduled preventive-maintenance work orders and maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities.
- Perform housekeeping and laundry duties as required, including cleaning common areas, offices, hallways, and washrooms; removing garbage and waste; restocking supplies; cleaning and disinfecting surfaces; and maintaining assigned areas in a clean and sanitary condition.
- Assist the Manager with maintenance, housekeeping, inspections, supply management, and other operational duties as required.
- Work additional hours when required to support maintenance operations, housekeeping coverage, emergencies, or other operational needs.
- Important: The position is subject to permanent changes in days and hours of work according to the home's needs.
Physical / Other Requirements
- Able to lift with assistance 160 lb.
- Able to lift a maximum of 50 lb independently.
- Able to push/pull 100 lb independently.
- Able to carry/transport objects up to 25 lb.
- Able to stretch, reach, bend, and stoop regularly throughout the shift.
- Current and clear criminal record check from a Canadian Police Information Centre, including a vulnerable sector check completed within the last 6 months.
