Description
About the Client Group
The Client Group is one of AB's largest strategic business units, with functions that span sales and client service, business development, marketing, and product development. The Client Group manages the lifecycle of an investment offering, from identifying market opportunities and developing investment solutions to creating compelling messaging, distributing products, and serving institutional and retail clients around the world.
Through close partnership with investment teams and business leaders across the firm, the Client Group plays a critical role in connecting AB's capabilities with client needs and driving the firm's growth.
The Client Group Summer Internship Program offers opportunities to learn about business development, client service, sales, marketing, product development, and the investment strategies AB provides to clients. The experience also supports the development of communication, networking, analytical, and problem-solving skills through firmwide onboarding, ongoing training, mentoring, senior-leader sessions, networking, and social events.
Who You'll Work With
Depending on business needs and your interests, you may support teams across the Client Group, including Business Development, Sales & Client Service, Marketing, and Product Development. You will collaborate with investment, sales, client service, product, and marketing professionals to help deliver high-quality insights and experiences for clients and prospects.
What You'll Do
Build an understanding of AB's mission, values, investment capabilities, products, services, procedures, and policies.
Conduct market, competitor, product, channel, or brand analysis and translate findings into practical insights for internal teams and clients.
Support the development of client- and sales-focused content, including investment-platform messaging, communications plans, presentations, and materials for product launches, campaigns, and events.
Assist client service and sales partners with recurring and ad hoc client or prospect needs, marketing efforts, and meeting preparation.
Maintain high-quality client and opportunity information in CRM systems, including meeting notes, contact details, relationship updates, and opportunity data.
Help coordinate calendars, meetings, and on-site event logistics, including room bookings, materials, and facilities support.
Contribute ideas that improve team efficiency, strengthen client engagement, and support innovation in content, experiences, or processes.
Partner effectively with colleagues and external agencies or vendors, where applicable, to support brand positioning, campaigns, digital initiatives, and other business priorities.
What We're Looking For
Candidates should be strong academic performers with an interest in the investment management industry and a desire to learn across client-facing and strategic functions.
Spring 2028 bachelor's degree candidates in business, finance, economics, data science, mathematics, liberal arts, marketing, communications, public relations, UX design, product development, audiovisual communication technologies, or a related field.
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.
Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Strong analytical, written, verbal, storytelling, and presentation skills.
Detail-oriented, well organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Able to work independently while also contributing as a collaborative, proactive team member.
Client-focused, with a high degree of professionalism, motivation, initiative, and intellectual curiosity.
Foundational proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with CRM, digital media, design, research, collaboration, or project-management tools is a plus.
Relevant experience through internships, part-time work, coursework, campus organizations, or volunteer activities is valued.
Program Requirements
Available to work full-time from June through August 2027.
May not take academic classes or hold other employment that conflicts with the internship schedule.
Must successfully complete a thorough background check.
Candidates receiving a full-time return offer should expect a July 2028 start date.
Depending on the full-time role, interest in completing the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 7, and Series 63 licensing exams may be beneficial.
