As an employee of Regency Retirement Resorts, the Bus Driver is a member of a highly energetic team, driving Residents to and from appointments, shopping and on tours and picking up and delivering supplies and materials as required.

Wage- $21.43/Hour

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintains a level of conduct, personal grooming and appearance that meets the standards of the Resort.

• Schedules and provides transportation for Residents, coordinating their individual requirements in a way that ensures maximum efficiency.  Assists Residents on and off vehicle in a safe manner.

• Provides transportation service for the Activity Department’s planned activities on an as needed basis.

• Collects and delivers supplies and materials for the facility as required.

• Maintains the cleanliness of the bus both inside and out. 

• Performs daily safety inspection including checking fluid levels and tire pressure.

• Ensures all Residents are accounted for on return trips through check lists.

• Ensure the bus is in safe operating condition prior to each trip, reports damage or repairs needed to the Maintenance Director.

• Works toward creating a team environment within the facility through positive interactions with other departments and staff.

• Maintains confidentiality of all resident and organizational information and displays an attitude that shows respect and maintains the spirit, dignity and individuality of the Residents.  Communicates any information to the department supervisor that may assist in maintaining the Resident’s health, safety and happiness.

• Familiarizes and adheres to all organizational policies and procedures.

• Must be tactful, friendly and extremely patient when dealing with Residents.  Must be courteous and friendly to visitors and work in a cooperative manner with fellow workers.

• Assists in the orientation process of new employees.

• Performs other related duties and multi-tasking functions as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience

• Class 4 Drivers license
• Clean Driving Abstract from Ministry of Transportation
• WHMIS

Skills and Abilities

1.     Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

2.     Mentally and physically able to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.

3.     Able to plan and organize transportation service.
