As a Database Developer, you’ll help lead complex PostgreSQL to Oracle Database migrations and deliver solutions that are reliable, secure, and ready to support mission needs.

In this role, you’ll work across schema and code conversion, data movement, Oracle AI Database 26ai, multimodal data, and OCI migration. You’ll help ensure that applications and data continue to perform as expected throughout testing, cutover, reconciliation, and post-migration stabilization.

What You’ll Work On:

• Plan and execute PostgreSQL-to-Oracle Database migrations from discovery through post-migration stabilization.
• Design and implement Oracle AI Database 26ai environments that meet application, analytics, availability, security, and operational requirements.
• Design multi-model databases integrating relational, spatial, JSON, including JSON Relational Duality, and graph data types.
• Migrate Oracle Databases from on-premises or other cloud environments into OCI while managing network, service, sequencing, and operational dependencies.
• Use Zero Downtime Migration, Data Pump, GoldenGate, or comparable tools to execute reliable migrations with rollback and recovery planning.
• Develop and optimize SQL, PL/SQL, schemas, interfaces, and operational automation for migrated and newly developed applications.
• Define migration test plans, reconcile source and target data, assess migration readiness, and troubleshoot functional, performance, and integration issues.
• Create migration plans, design documentation, runbooks, cutover checklists, and stakeholder-ready status reports.

You Have:

• 8+ years of experience in database development, database engineering, or data migration
• Experience planning and executing PostgreSQL-to-Oracle Database migrations across discovery, schema and code conversion, data movement, testing, cutover, reconciliation, and stabilization
• Experience designing and implementing Oracle AI Database 26ai environments
• Experience designing multi-model database solutions using relational, spatial, JSON, and graph data types
• Experience migrating Oracle Databases from on-premises or cloud environments into OCI
• Experience with database migration tools
• Experience with SQL and PL/SQL, including database schemas, interfaces, performance optimization, and operational automation
• Experience developing migration test plans, validating data quality, reconciling source and target data, and documenting technical decisions and operational procedures
• Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam
• Bachelor’s degree

Nice If You Have:

• Experience working with geospatial raster and vector data and Oracle Spatial capabilities
• Knowledge of OCI, including secure database deployment, networking, identity, storage, monitoring, and operations
• Experience creating RESTful APIs and integrating with Oracle API Gateway or comparable API-management capabilities
• Experience with Oracle Exadata or OCI Autonomous AI Database Service on Exadata
• Experience enabling AI use cases with Oracle vector data types, RAG, and MCP
• Experience integrating dashboards or visualization tools such as Grafana, Oracle Analytics Cloud, or Oracle Analytics Server

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
