Position Summary

The Part-Time Program Delivery Specialist delivers hands-on Girl Scout experiences in council-operated troops primarily in underserved or underrepresented communities through before-school, after-school, and club-based programs at schools and community partner sites.  This role combines direct troop engagement with administrative and logistical support to ensure a smooth, high-quality experience that drives participation and growth in Girl Scouting. Secondary responsibilities support council-wide cookie, retail, camp and customer operations as needed.

 

This is a remote-based position that requires regular attendance at in-person meetings and community engagement events and occasional attendance at the Overland Park office. Part-time hours consist of approximately 10 hours per week and occasionally up to 30 hours. Employee must reside within the Greater Kansas City metropolitan area. To be successful in this position, working in the community, including evenings and weekends, is required.

 

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the troop leader and supports the Girl Scout experience for girls by leading troop meetings, coordinating membership activities and registration events.
  • Handles light administrative tasks required for the successful delivery of Girl Scout programming. This includes collecting membership forms and tracking meeting attendance and curriculum.
  • Serves as primary on-site host for in-school and evening registration events designed to introduce Girl Scouting to potential new girls and volunteers and families.
  • Collaborates with school administrators, community leaders and local organizations (community festivals, other networking opportunities) to expand awareness of Girl Scouts.
  • Maintains supplies and assists with the distribution and placement of marketing materials, including flyers and yard signs.
  • Supports council activities in the retail shop, at camp, cookie cupboards and other identified council events and activities.
  • Shares insights with supervisor about trends and interests among youth to help ensure programming and recruitment efforts remain relevant.
  • Acts as a brand ambassador for Girl Scouts by representing the organization with consistent messaging, professionalism, and enthusiasm in the community.

  • Oral and Written Communication - able to communicate effectively with diverse audiences of girls, volunteers, staff and other stakeholders across all communication channels; expresses ideas and facts in a clear and understandable manner appropriate for an individual or
  • Confidentiality – can maintain confidentiality with a wide range of sensitive topics.
  • Commitment to Inclusiveness - supports the Girl Scout mission by fostering an environment that welcomes and includes girls and adults from diverse backgrounds.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Any combination of education, training, and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job ideally with two to four years of progressively responsible related experience.
  • Technical Computer Skills – comfortable using or learning Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook, Customer Relationship Management systems, and social media
  • Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record and proof of current insurance coverage. Consistent, reliable transportation to meet job duties is required.
  • Employment is dependent upon the results of a criminal background investigation.
  • Bilingual – a plus but not required.

 

Working Conditions:

  • This position is remote based, with regular travel required to the Overland Park office, various meeting locations around the Kansas City metro area, and our two camp
  • This position may require evening and weekend hours to attend events and meetings.
  • Work is performed in a normal interior environment with some exposure to outdoor weather conditions, dirt and dust, and extreme heat or
  • Work schedules may vary; staff are encouraged to partner with their supervisor to maintain a healthy work/life balance.
  • May be required to lift and transport event materials and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Will be working primarily with girls and occasionally with adults.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance Requirements:

Must be authorized to work in the United States.
