At Xylem, our operations depend on having the right materials, equipment, and inventory available at the right time. As a Material Handler, you'll serve as the backbone of our shop and warehouse operations, ensuring materials flow efficiently, inventory remains accurate, and workspaces stay safe, organized, and ready to support our field and service teams.
This is more than a warehouse position. You'll take ownership of critical inventory processes, manage incoming shipments, support service operations, and help maintain the high standards that keep our business running smoothly every day.
🛠 What You'll Be Doing
Warehouse & Inventory Operations
Receive, inspect, and process incoming deliveries from carriers such as UPS, FedEx, and freight providers.
Verify shipments against purchase orders and packing slips, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
Organize, store, and distribute incoming materials to appropriate locations.
Maintain accurate inventory records and support cycle counts, audits, and inventory control initiatives.
Manage tank inventory levels, coordinate replenishment orders, and oversee delivery scheduling.
Assist in ordering parts and materials needed to support service and operational teams.
Shop Ownership & Organization
Take ownership of overall shop and warehouse organization, cleanliness, and efficiency.
Maintain clear aisles, organized storage locations, and safe working conditions throughout the facility.
Ensure waste, recyclables, and excess materials are properly collected and disposed of.
Support continuous improvement efforts that increase warehouse efficiency and organization.
Equipment & Operational Support
Maintain inspection records and operational logs for forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
Submit water samples and support operational compliance activities as required.
Partner with Materials Specialists and Service Managers to ensure materials are available when needed.
Assist with special projects and operational needs across the facility.
🎯 What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
1+ years of warehouse, material handling, shipping/receiving, or related experience
Experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment
Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications, email, and data entry
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Basic math skills with attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing inventory in a warehouse or service environment
Familiarity with cycle counting, inventory audits, or inventory management systems
Experience supporting service, manufacturing, or industrial operations

The estimated pay range for this position is $22/hr. to $24/hr.. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience, and work location.
