Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The applicant, reporting to the Quality Engineering Manager, will be responsible for design of gages to inspect the manufacturing parts and assembly of components. This role will ensure compliance with quality requirements and ensure that manufactured products meet specified standards.

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Design production gaging for machined components and multi-component assemblies. Types of gaging to include: Go/no-go, functional, analytical, check fixtures, and CMM fixturing/work holding
  • Lead the development of 3-D models and drawings for gauging activities as well as engineering changes to existing products related to gaging capability
  • Partner with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing to improve dimensional quality, inspection methods, and design for manufacturability
  • Manage your projects with ownership and accountability, ensuring on‑time and on‑budget delivery
  • Support and uphold all company policies, safety standards, and security requirements

Education and Licensure

Associates degree or equivalent experience

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

Required Skills, Experience, and Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in design
  • Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ANSI Y14.5.
  • 3D CAD proficiency
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize projects to meet completion dates.
  • Ability to execute tasks assigned with minimum supervision.
  • Strong computer software skills.  Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Due to federal contract security requirements, candidates must be able to successfully pass a federal background investigation to secure and maintain DOE Q security clearance if required.

Preferred Qualifications and Location Details

  • Active Q or TS/SCI Clearance.
  • Experience with industry manufacturing quality systems. i.e. NQA-1, AS9100, 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 13485
  • Experience with Creo/Windchill
  • ASME Y14.5 Technologist or Senior Certification
  • Onsite position
