Position Summary
The Supply Chain Clerk is responsible for performing administrative and operational tasks to support supply chain activities. This includes managing inventory records, processing orders, and/or coordinating incoming or outgoing shipments. The role requires attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to follow established procedures to ensure accurate and timely documentation of supply chain activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Inventory Management:
- Maintain and update inventory records in the system.
- Assist with cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies in inventory.
- Track stock levels and alert supervisors of low inventory.
- Order Processing:
- Enter purchase orders, sales orders, and shipping documents into the system.
- Verify order details for accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal departments to track order status.
- Shipping & Receiving:
- Outgoing shipments: prepare shipping labels, packing slips, and bills of lading.
- Incoming shipments: support receiving activities by logging incoming shipments and verifying quantities against purchase orders.
- File and maintain records of shipments and receipts.
- Administrative Support:
- Maintain supply chain records, including invoices, delivery notes, and purchase orders.
- Respond to inquiries from internal teams and vendors regarding order status and inventory availability.
- Assist in preparing reports on supply chain metrics, such as inventory levels and order status.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Exchange information clearly with suppliers, carriers, and internal departments.
- Provide status updates to stakeholders and clarify requirements when needed.
- Engage with colleagues to facilitate collaboration and information-sharing.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree or coursework in supply chain, business administration, or a related field is a plus.
- Experience:
- 1-2 years of experience in clerical, administrative, or supply chain support roles.
- Experience with inventory management systems or ERP software is preferred.
- Skills:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, for managing inventory and order records.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills for providing updates and clarifying requirements
