Description
Our Mom's Restaurant & Bar is hiring a friendly, dependable Host to create a welcoming first impression and help the dining room run smoothly.
Pay and Schedule:
- $8.00–$10.00 per hour. This is a non-tipped position.
- Team members begin at the lower end of the range during the introductory training period. Advancement toward $10.00 per hour is based on demonstrated proficiency, accuracy, reliability, and consistent performance in the role.
- This position is listed as part-time, and full-time schedules may also be available.
- Applicants must be available to work days, nights, and weekends.
What You'll Do:
- Greet guests promptly and make every arrival feel welcome.
- Manage the waitlist and provide accurate wait-time estimates.
- Seat guests using balanced server rotations and communicate clearly with the service team.
- Answer phones and assist with takeout orders accurately.
- Keep the host stand, entry, and waiting area clean and organized.
- Help reset tables and support guest flow during busy shifts.
- Communicate large parties, special requests, and seating needs to the appropriate team members.
What We're Looking For:
- A warm, professional attitude and clear communication.
- Dependability, punctuality, and the ability to stay composed during busy periods.
- Strong awareness of the dining room and attention to detail.
- The ability to stand for extended periods and move quickly throughout the restaurant.
- Previous restaurant or customer-service experience is helpful but not required; we will train the right person.
Pay progression is earned by consistently meeting role milestones, including accurate waitlist management, balanced seating, dependable attendance, professional guest service, phone and takeout accuracy, and effective teamwork.
