Position Title: Floor Technician
Job Summary:
A Floor Technician is responsible for maintaining and restoring various types of flooring in commercial, industrial, healthcare, educational, and office facilities. This role involves cleaning, polishing, stripping, waxing, buffing, and repairing floors to ensure a clean, safe, and professional appearance.
Key Responsibilities
- Sweep, vacuum, mop, and maintain all floor surfaces.
- Strip, wax, seal, and refinish hard surface floors.
- Buff and burnish floors to maintain shine and appearance.
- Clean and maintain carpeted areas using extraction and shampooing equipment.
- Remove stains, dirt, scuff marks, and gum from flooring surfaces.
- Operate and maintain floor care equipment, including auto scrubbers, buffers, burnishers, and carpet extractors.
- Perform routine inspections to identify floor maintenance needs.
- Follow safety procedures when handling cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Place caution signs and ensure work areas remain safe for occupants.
- Clean and maintain equipment after use.
- Assist with general custodial duties as needed.
- Report maintenance concerns, damages, or safety hazards to management.
