The role
The Accounting and Controls Manager is reporting to Supply Chain Hub Financial Controller will be a sparring partner to manage the accounting, controlling, and risk management agenda for the European Supply Chain. With millions of transactions, thousands of employees and hundreds of production and stock locations, the scope is one of the largest you will find in The Magnum Ice Cream Company (TMICC). This role will challenge you on many fronts from technical accounting and financial reporting topics, to managing large scale change.
What you'll be responsible for
Ensure timely, complete and accurate accounting and reporting, both for Group as well as local/statutory and tax purposes.
Support the external and internal audits
Ensure compliance with the Global Financial Controls Framework and the Global Process Model
Support acquisitions and disposals activities from an accounting perspective
Lead proactive, dynamic risk management and operational controls
Drive efficiency in compliance and control activities in partnership with Global Business Solutions
Accountable for financial controls within direct area of responsibility
Manage relationship with External and Internal Auditors
Ensure all foreign currency exposures are hedged in line with the treasury policies
Partner the Supply Chain Organization in the Business Units and in Business Operations on accounting and reporting matters, as well as on major business transformation initiatives
Report into Supply Chain Hub Financial Controller and closely engage with the Supply Chain Finance team located in The Netherlands, Amsterdam and abroad
Have many other interactions outside of the formal team settings, including BU Supply Chain and Finance teams, MSO finance teams, expertise teams in Tax, Legal and Treasury, Group Controlling, Corporate and External Audit and UniOps, Finance Services, and/or Global Business Solution (GBS) teams
We're looking for someone who
Has at least 7–10-year finance and industry experience with relevant finance degree or accounting qualification
Is resilient (ability to cope with time pressure and challenges)
Has a high degree of flexibility and ability to quickly understand new topics
Has the ability to work collaboratively with other key stakeholders
Has strong engagement, presentation and communication skills
Has the ability to present complex information in a simplified manner
Is fluent in English and (preferred) Dutch both in reading and writing or willingness to learn quickly
Has experience in areas of financial accounting, within role(s) within consumer goods or services or with Big 4
Has strong knowledge or expertise on IFRS standards, direct and indirect Taxes.
Has solid experience in leading and managing internal or external audits
Has experience working with large complex data from multiple sources
Has experience managing local, regional and global stakeholder
Has experience in presenting to and communicating with Finance and non-Finance stakeholders
