Summary
The Trade Compliance Analyst Level 2 will be responsible for supporting the company’s Trade Compliance program and working with the company’s Sr. Manager of Trade Compliance and Legal Department. The candidate will be an integral part of the Trade Compliance team and will assist the organization with various areas of trade compliance responsibilities; namely, obtaining export licenses from the U.S. Government and determining exemption eligibility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This position supports the Trade Compliance organization by working with various U.S. Government regulations and utilizing published guidance to prepare, submit, and track export license submissions. Position requires working knowledge of International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR). This individual’s duties focus on:
- Interfacing with various internal customers to obtain necessary information to complete the license submissions.
- Engaging with Program Managers at a technical level to work on Technical Assistance Agreement (TAA) preparation.
- Preparing export license/TAA submissions.
- Utilizing internal procedures, templates, guidelines, and checklists to complete tasks.
- Overseeing the maintenance of the license/agreement
- filing applicable reports throughout the life of the license,

- train internal personnel on the license/agreement scope

- Providing approval authority for the use of license exemptions, foreign travel, and foreign visitors.
- Providing guidance and approvals on document markings and technical data transfers.
- Preparing weekly reports on licensing status for use by Company personnel.
- Assist Sr. Manager with all US Government reporting requirements.
To achieve success in this position, the candidate must possess the following.
- Extensive experience with creating and submitting DDTC and BIS Export Licenses and mastery of DECCS and SNAP-R.
- Ability to take direction or feedback and adjust for future license submissions.
- Experience in approving the use of BIS Exceptions and DDTC Exemptions.
- Able to interpret governmental requirements and provide guidance to stakeholders.
- Auditing experience.
- Training experience either in large groups or through virtual means.
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written. Detail oriented with first-time quality approach. Ability to remain consistent across multiple documents.
- Proactive ownership and strong organizational skills with an ability to adapt to shifting priorities and work independently.
- An analytical manner with the ability to solve problems.
- Ability to work, collaborate, and communicate with all levels of management and/or cross-functional departments.
- High degree of ethical business conduct and integrity.
- Strong analytical and research skills related to US Government regulatory requirements.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 2-3 years direct Trade Compliance export authorization is required. This includes: (1) experience in preparing, submitting and adjudicating export licenses (2) working knowledge of the EAR and ITAR licensing regulations and (3) experience with exemptions/exception requirements
- Experience with DECCS and SNAP-R is preferred.
- Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
Preferred Skills
- Capable of creating formal business documents
- A technical background for jurisdiction and classifications in hardware and software
- Able to work within a team and foster teamwork and trust from both external and internal customers
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a time sensitive environment
- Strong level of computer skills with MS Office products and ability to be on video for internal and external MS Teams calls
Security Responsibilities
Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.
- Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.
Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.
Work Environment
Work is performed in a subassembly shop, final assembly labs and customer sites. All areas are climate controlled however there are times when individuals will need to work outside in the elements.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Must be able to work for long periods of time standing, stooping and bending, and also lifting up to forty (40) to fifty (50) pounds, with no limitations/restrictions.
- Must be able to climb and work from ladders.
