Job Description Summary
The Engineering Technician - Production is responsible for supporting manufacturing processes, equipment, and production operations to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient product assembly. This role works closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to troubleshoot process issues, implement continuous improvement initiatives, support equipment maintenance activities, and drive process standardization. The Engineering Technician serves as a key resource for production teams by providing technical support, assisting with investigations, and ensuring manufacturing processes remain effective and compliant.Work Schedule
Primary assignment is supporting 1st shift manufacturing operations.
Typical work hours are 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Occasional schedule flexibility may be required to support process implementations, troubleshooting activities, training events, or critical production needs.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities/essential functions include:
- Provide daily technical support to manufacturing operations to resolve process, equipment, and product-related issues.
- Assist Manufacturing Engineers with process development, validation, implementation, and continuous improvement projects.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing equipment, tooling, fixtures, and assembly processes to minimize downtime and improve productivity.
- Support root cause investigations and corrective actions related to non-conformances, CAPAs, production issues, and quality concerns.
- Provide strong individual contributions in the context of achieving team goals. Provide technical leadership by assisting others in troubleshooting, answering questions and seeking engineering assistance.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation including work instructions, standard operating procedures, process maps, and training materials.
- Collect, analyze, and report production and process performance data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Support engineering changes, process updates, and product transfers while ensuring compliance with applicable procedures and regulations.
- Partner with Production Associates, Team Leaders, Engineers, and Quality personnel to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost metrics.
- Assist with qualification and verification of manufacturing equipment, tooling, fixtures, and process improvements.
- Support training activities by providing technical expertise and coaching production personnel on manufacturing processes and best practices.
- Participate in Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with quality management system requirements
- Comply with EHS regulations and policies.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related technical field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2+ years of experience supporting manufacturing operations, production equipment, or engineering activities.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
- Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or electromechanical systems.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and data analysis tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
