Job Description
The Senior Remuneration Specialist is responsible for the development, maintenance, governance, and analysis of remuneration and allowances frameworks across the organisation. The role provides specialist reward expertise to support competitive and equitable pay practices, collective bargaining processes, remuneration policy development, legislative reporting, and reward-related projects.The incumbent will drive salary benchmarking, pay structure development, remuneration modelling, governance, and support system implementation initiatives while ensuring compliance with applicable legislation and internal policies.
Key Result Areas:
Total Guaranteed Pay (TGP) Management
Benchmarking
Coordinate participation in remuneration and benefits surveys.
Manage salary survey submissions and ensure data accuracy.
Analyse market trends and remuneration movements.
Maintain relationships with remuneration survey providers and industry forums
Conduct external salary benchmarking and remuneration market analysis.
Develop, maintain, and review salary structures, paylines, and remuneration frameworks.
Annual remuneration Review
Develop and execute increase mandate modelling and affordability analysis.
Support the development and maintenance of job grading and benchmarking.
Produce remuneration reports and insight for leadership decision-making.
Conduct pay equity and remuneration competitiveness assessments.
Provide support for annual remuneration review processes.
Develop negotiation packs and financial impact assessments.
Provide reward analytics and insights for union negotiation discussions.
Allowances Management
Design and Review
Support the design, implementation, and review of employee allowance frameworks.
Conduct market benchmarking of allowances and related benefits.
Evaluate business requirements and recommend allowance structures.
Governance and Compliance
Monitor allowance governance and policy adherence.
Review allowance utilisation and associated costs.
Ensure allowance practices remain compliant with regulatory and internal requirements.
Reporting and Analytics
Prepare allowance-related reports and trend analyses.
Monitor market competitiveness and cost effectiveness.
Provide recommendations based on utilisation and benchmarking outcomes.
Systems and Policy Support
Support the implementation of allowances within HR, Workday and payroll systems.
Update and maintain allowance policies and procedures.
Other related responsibilities
Coordinate and submit statutory remuneration reporting requirements, EA4 submission.
Provide remuneration support during mergers, acquisitions, and organisational restructuring activities.
Support remuneration structuring for external hires and internal appointments.
Requirements: Skills, Qualifications and Experience required
Qualification and experience:
Bachelor’s Degree preferably Business or technical degree e.g. Bachelor of Commerce.
Remuneration analysis and reporting background.
Experienced specialist with at least 5 - 7 years’ work experience (3 in a remuneration role).
SARA qualification is advantageous.
