Global IS License Manager ABB Robotics

We are looking for an experienced Global IS License Manager to establish and drive our global License Management capability as part of the Vendor and License Management function.

This is a newly created, high-impact role offering significant opportunity to shape the area, influence global IS governance and grow with the organisation.

You will drive the development of our global License Management and Software Asset Management (SAM) strategy, governance framework and model, while leading operational execution across License Optimization, Compliance & Audits, Vendor Management, Tool Administration and Cross-Functional Support.

Your responsibilities

  • Define and drive the global License Management strategy, governance framework, policies, controls and processes.

  • Lead the end-to-end software licence lifecycle and optimisation, including entitlements, usage, demand, renewals and optimisation opportunities.

  • Own licence compliance and audit readiness, including reconciliations, licence positions, risk identification and remediation.

  • Manage licensing relationships with key software vendors and support renewals, commercial discussions and interpretation of licensing terms in collaboration with Sourcing, Legal and Vendor Management.

  • Own the quality and effective use of License Management tools and data, including ServiceNow SAM Pro or equivalent, reporting and process automation.

  • Partner with IS, Sourcing, Legal, Finance and business stakeholders to embed effective license management practices across the organization.

In addition to these core responsibilities, you will play a key role in developing licensing strategies aligned with business goals, supporting software licence compliance reporting, and monitoring relevant licensing and regulatory developments. Your leadership will help shape the License Management function by driving continuous improvement, providing licensing expertise and guidance to the team, and managing escalations.

The position is global. The preferred locations are Poland, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Czech Republic and Germany.

This Position reports to: Head of IS Vendor and License Management

Your background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in Software Asset Management (SAM), IT Asset Management (ITAM), software licensing, or IT/IS Vendor Management with a strong focus on software licensing in a global or multinational environment.

  • Strong knowledge of software licensing models, licence optimisation, compliance and vendor audits.

  • Hands-on experience with ServiceNow SAM Pro or a comparable SAM platform.

  • Experience working with major software publishers and complex enterprise licensing models.

  • CSAM, ServiceNow CIS-SAM/ITAM or relevant vendor licensing certifications are an advantage.

  • Strong analytical, stakeholder management, communication and negotiation skills.
