The High School Recruiter plays a vital role in connecting students with opportunities that can transform their futures through technical education. As an enthusiastic ambassador for Ogden-Weber Technical College, this position fosters meaningful relationships with high schools, students, families, and community partners to expand awareness of OTECH's programs and pathways. Grounded in the values of Community, Learning, and Integrity, the Recruiter creates engaging outreach experiences, delivers impactful presentations, and develops strategic partnerships that inspire students to explore career-focused education. Serving as a trusted guide throughout the decision-making and enrollment process, the High School Recruiter helps prospective students identify their goals, navigate opportunities with confidence, and take the next step toward personal, educational, and professional success.

The incumbent works under the direction of the Director for Student Services. 

1. Serve as a trusted advisor and advocate, helping prospective students explore educational opportunities and career pathways. 
2. Develop and evaluate recruitment strategies and recommend improvements based on outcomes. 
3. Analyze recruitment and enrollment data, identify opportunities, and recommend strategies to improve outcomes and support enrollment growth. 
4. Collaborate with college teams to coordinate recruitment events, build partnerships, and support a student-centered enrollment experience. 
5. Maintain a strong understanding of college programs, enrollment procedures, and available campus resources to effectively guide students. 
6. Uphold confidentiality and data privacy standards in all communications and recordkeeping. 
7. Foster a welcoming environment where all prospective students feel valued, supported, and empowered to pursue their goals. 
8. Serve as an ambassador of the college by actively promoting the institution’s mission, values, programs, and opportunities. 
9. Utilize customer relations management software to manage recruitment activities and track outcomes. 
10. The incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned. 
11. Working hours often include coverage for early morning and evening functions. Education and Experience Requirements:
  1. Technical college certificate or associate degree in education, communications, human services, business, marketing, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience. 
  2. Two years of experience in technical education, higher education, recruitment, admissions, counseling, workforce development, customer service, outreach, community engagement, or a related field.  
  3. Demonstrated ability to engage a wide range of groups and individuals through public speaking, presentations, and individualized coaching. 
  4. Ability to establish credibility and build collaborative partnerships with educational and community partners. 
  5. Demonstrated problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills. 
  6. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  7. Experience managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 
  8. Ability to organize resources and establish priorities. 
  9. Must have a valid driver’s license. 
  10. Must be proficient with computers, Microsoft Office, and Windows operating systems. 
 
Physical Requirements:
  1. Work is a combination of sitting comfortably at a desk and physical exertion which includes walking long distances and standing for extended time periods. 
  2. Ability to stand, walk over rough surfaces, bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach, lift moderately heavy items (up to 30 lbs.) in a recurring manner and/or for long periods of time, and driving an automobile, etc. 
  3. This position requires frequent travel between the college, K-12 partners, and community event locations.  The incumbent must be able to transport, load, unload, set up, and dismantle, outreach and recruitment equipment including tables, canopies, displays, and promotional materials. 
  4. Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc. 
  5. Typically, this work will be performed on site at the main campus, BDO campus, at K-12 partner locations, and local community events. 
  6. Consistent attendance is essential to fulfilling the responsibilities of the role and maintaining a productive work environment. 
  7. This position occasionally works in an outdoor environment with exposure to weather-related heat and cold, rain, wind, and related elements. 

WORKING HOURS:

40 hours per week. Working hours may vary based on events. Schedule often includes coverage for weekend, early morning, and evening events.
