Network Administrator

Description

General Summary 

With minimal supervision, monitor, and ensure security and functioning of all system(s) of responsibility. This may include the following: telecommunications systems, and network.

Essential Functions 

Perform one or more of the following:

Maintain, monitor, and evaluate for proper functioning of system(s) of responsibility: network, telecommunications systems, and/or other equipment

Monitor network security, and escalate problems as necessary; ensure accessibility to systems is current

Provide support for all systems of responsibility

Perform analysis for system(s); escalating problems and notify management as necessary

Provide first-level technical support for system(s) of responsibility

Possibly perform risk analysis for possible disasters, natural or otherwise; establish/aid in disaster recovery plan for systems of responsibility

May deal with vendor relationships in regard to systems of responsibility

Remain current on new technologies; introduce applicable technology in alignment with company goals and for creative solutions

Guide change with a focus on optimal outcomes

Requirements

Job Specifications 

Typically has the following skills or abilities: 

Minimum 2 – 4 years related experience

Some experience maintaining one of the following: network security, telephone platforms

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for moderate problems

Excellent organization and time management skills

Meet/exceed the organizations best practices, expectations, and standards

Identify and mitigate risk(s)

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Demonstrated ability to guide others in regards to team self-management

Ability to regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of his/her job duties

For roles that are remote (i.e., Work From Home (WFM)) or hybrid (i.e., partial onsite at a VSP location and WFM), must demonstrate a high level of engagement in virtual environments, including maintaining camera presence during meetings to support effective communication and team alignment
