Please note: due to the personal nature of the support provided, this role is open to female applicants only (in line with the Equality Act 2010). The successful applicant will be supporting both male and female clients.

About the Role

This is a shopper/sitter role. Rather than personal care visits, you'll be providing companionship, practical support and social connection to people in their own homes and communities across South Leeds.

That might means accompanying someone on a shopping trip, sitting with them for a chat and a cuppa, helping them stay connected to the people and places that matter to them, or simply being a reassuring and familiar face.

No professional experience required - just a genuine desire to make a difference.

As a Care Assistant with Be Caring, you will:

• Promote independence through enabling approaches
• Support people to meet their personal outcomes, involving families and professionals
• Provide companionship, practical support and social connection
• Help people stay connected to their community and local services
• Provide personal care with dignity and respect, when required
• Deliver personalised support based on individual choice and needs
• Record and report information accurately

Where You'll Work

You'll join a dedicated care team supporting people across South Leeds, including:

• Beeston
• Belle Isle
• Hunslet
• Killingbeck
• Middleton
• Rothwell
• Seacroft
• Tingley

Pay & Hours

• £13.30 per hour
• Mileage: 50p per mile
• Full-time hours
• Block pay - not pay-per-call. You're paid from the start of your first visit to the end of your last in a block

Working pattern:

• Monday - Friday: 9:00am - 3:00pm
• Alternate weekends

Induction Training:

You'll receive comprehensive paid induction training, including:

• Be Caring values and going Above & Beyond to meet personal outcomes
• Dignity and respect, safeguarding, and equality and diversity
• Confidentiality and professional boundaries
• Fluids and nutrition and safe administration of medication
• Moving and positioning, basic life support, and pressure sores (React to Red)
• Infection prevention and control, health and safety
• Learning Disabilities (Oliver McGowan Tier 1), mental health and capacity
