Overview

AtkinsRealis is currently looking for Planning & Schedules Engineer (ideally a Saudi National) is responsible for leading all aspects of project planning, scheduling, forecasting, and delay analysis across major road and infrastructure programs.

This role provides strategic oversight of project timelines and ensures that all activities are executed in alignment with approved project milestones and contractual requirements. By establishing robust project controls and effective coordination mechanisms, the Planning & Schedules Manager plays a critical role in securing timely project delivery and supporting overall program success.

Your role

• Develop, manage, and continuously optimize the Master Project Schedule using Primavera P6, ensuring full integration of all project components and alignment with approved scope, resources, and timelines.

• Review and evaluate contractor baseline schedules, ensuring logical sequencing, resource loading, and consistency with contractual requirements; prepare detailed recommendations and justifications for approval or revisions.

• Monitor and track project progress through periodic updates, assessments of work performance, and analysis of schedule variances; identify deviations and propose corrective actions where necessary.

• Conduct schedule forecasting and completion date analysis, including preparation of mitigation and recovery plans for delayed or at-risk activities.

• Lead schedule risk assessments, performing what-if analyses, impact evaluations, and delay analyses to support Extension of Time (EOT) claims and contractual decision-making.

• Prepare high-quality progress dashboards, KPIs, and executive-level reports, presenting clear insights on schedule status, risks, and performance trends.

• Collaborate closely with project managers, discipline engineers, consultants, and contractors to validate progress data, resolve schedule conflicts, and maintain alignment between project participants.

• Ensure full compliance with contractual and industry-standard planning and scheduling requirements, with preference for familiarity with FIDIC-based contracts.

• Lead, mentor, and supervise the planning team, providing guidance, training, and performance oversight to junior planning engineers and schedulers.

About you

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

• Minimum of 15 years of professional planning experience, with exposure in managing major infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, highways etc..)

• Demonstrated expert-level proficiency in Primavera P6 and strong working knowledge of MS Project and other planning tools.

• Strong command of project controls methodologies, including earned value management, productivity analysis, and schedule forecasting.

• Proven expertise in delay analysis, preparation of Extension of Time (EOT) submissions, and interpretation of contractual requirements.

• Excellent leadership, analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and interpersonal communication

  skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary project environment.
