Job Summary

Home Delivery Courier will ensure timely and accurate delivery of medications and medical supplies to various locations, including pharmacies, clinics, and residential homes.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

• Pick up and load vehicles with prescriptions/medical supplies, both cold chain and room temperature, at Monument Health Pharmacies.
• Return all necessary totes, coolers, medications, and paperwork to the Pharmacies at the end of the shift.
• Deliver prescriptions promptly, efficiently, accurately, safely, and in a courteous manner to intended recipients, both to patients and other clinics.
• Possess a solid knowledge of the area/region you'll be delivering to, up to 150-mile radius of Rapid City, SD.
• Detail-oriented to keep track of deliveries.
• Customer service and communication skills with customers/patients/caregivers/pharmacy team members.
• Maintains the security and integrity of medication and supplies throughout delivery process.
• Technical skills: Be comfortable using a smartphone, apps, and other delivery technology.
• Performs data collection as required, maintaining accurate delivery logs and other relevant records.
• Perform daily inspections of the delivery vehicle for any maintenance needs to ensure it is in safe working condition.
• Reports any mechanical issues with the delivery vehicle to supervisor.
• Evaluate traffic patterns, alternative routes, and weather conditions as needed when driving the delivery vehicle.
• Participate in all required safety training.
• Have and maintain a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Obey all traffic laws and be comfortable with driving in different weather conditions.
• All other duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements

Required:
Education - High School Diploma/GED Equivalent in General Studies
Certification - Driver's License - State

Scheduling Requirements: Requires the ability to work assigned schedules and hours as determined by the department.

Physical Requirements: Medium work - exerting up to 10 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently (34-66% of the time), and or up to 50 pounds of force occasionally (up to 33% of the time), and/or up to 50 pounds seldomly to move objects. Possible exposure to radiation and frequent exposure to contaminated needles and infectious body substances.
