Description

Dragonfly Counselling & Support Centre is a non-profit, charitable organization supporting children, youth, and adults impacted by sexual abuse or assault and providing education and prevention programming related to sexual violence. DCSC provides services to communities such as Athabasca, Slave Lake, Wabasca, Smoky Lake, Bonnyville, Cold Lake, Lac La Biche, St. Paul and other rural and/or remote locations including Metis and First Nations communities. 

We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented Education & Awareness Content Developer to join our team. In this role, you will bring DCSC’s mission to life across digital and print media, developing engaging visual assets, educational workbooks, social media campaigns, and public awareness materials.

This position is eligible for a remote work agreement, with options for hybrid or onsite arrangements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design print and digital assets, including website graphics, workshop presentations, educational workbooks, campaign posters, advertising, and recorded media.

  • Conceptualize, draft, and refine visual elements using modern design software, ensuring all materials align with DCSC’s brand guidelines and trauma informed principles.

  • Build and maintain brand kits to ensure visual consistency across all agency departments, outreach streams, and community campaigns.

  • Proofread and quality test graphics across various formats and platforms prior to publication.

  • Develop and execute agency wide social media strategies and marketing campaigns aligned with DCSC’s vision, mission, and strategic goals.

  • Manage daily social media channels to maintain an active, supportive, and informative online community presence.

  • Apply SEO and web-presence strategies to boost brand awareness and community reach across rural, remote, and Indigenous partner communities.

  • Research new advertising trends, digital media platforms, and promotional concepts to elevate program reach.

  • Work closely with the whole team to translate clinical concepts into accessible visual resources.

  • Support the logistics and design needs for community education events, awareness months, fundraising initiatives, and webinars.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Communications, Fine Arts, Marketing, or a related field (equivalencies considered).
  • Proven track record in graphic design, digital content creation, and social media management.

  • Experience in human services or not for profit organizations is an asset.
  • Proficiency with design software and social media management tools.

  • A keen eye for visual layout, typography, color theory, and accessibility standards.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including strong proofreading and editing capabilities.

  • Familiarity with or openness to learning trauma-informed, culturally safe, and community-centered messaging.

  • Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check (with Vulnerable Sector Check) and Child Intervention Record Check.
