Description
The essential function of the position within the organization is to assist the Food and Beverage Manager in managing the Golf Club’s food and beverage front-of-house operation. Provide friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional dining experience for all our guests. This position works under the direct supervision of the Food and Beverage Manager according to set procedures.
Requires graduation from high school, GED or specialized vocational training.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED: Licenses, certifications, and registrations refers to professional, state, or federal licenses, certifications, or registrations required to enter the position.
Requires possession of a valid Tennessee driver’s license and a TBAC Server Permit.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Experience refers to the amount of work experience that is required for entry into the position that would result in reasonable expectation that the person can perform the tasks required by the position.
Must have basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures. Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
- Assists in overseeing the club restaurant, food and beverage carts, banquets and special events, and any other food and beverage-related activities.
- May serve as the Manager-On-Duty for front-of-house operations. Must be able to work and train in all aspects of food and beverage including but not limited to: beverage carts, the restaurant, and banquets/special events.
- Achieves restaurant operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews, preparing, and completing action plans.
- Assists in supervising operation of bar to maximize profitability, minimize legal liability, and conform to alcoholic beverage regulations. Maximizes bar profitability by ensuring portion control and monitoring accuracy of charges.
- Provides customer service to patrons, including handling customer questions and complaints.
- Responsible for assembling the work schedule for all Server team members for presentation to the Food and Beverage Manager.
- Supervises staff, including orienting, training, assigning, scheduling; communicating job expectations; enforcing policies and procedures.
- Assists customers in person; provides routine information and answers customer questions regarding assigned area.
- Provides requested service, such as ringing up sales for activities, equipment rental, passes, programs, or refreshments, or taking and/or preparing food and drink orders.
- Performs cleaning tasks for assigned areas, such as sweeping floors and lanes, wiping tabletops, or cleaning cooking or eating areas; ensures compliance with federal health regulations.
- Monitors customers to ensure compliance with departmental safety rules and regulations.
- Attends staff meetings to exchange information.
- Inform guests of specials and menu changes.
- Make recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy.
- Take food and beverage orders from guests, enter orders in our point-of-sale system, which relays orders to the kitchen and bar.
- Be ready and willing to assist fellow servers as situations arise.
