Overview
The Injection Engineer Intern will gain exposure to internal operations at Stryten Energy through hands-on experience in manufacturing, engineering, processing, and other areas of the company. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week learning opportunity running from May 2027 to August 2027 at our Lancaster, PA facility. Interns are responsible for their transportation to the plant. Responsibilities
- Support Injection Molding Process control and capability using scientific molding principles.
- Assist with molding improvements to include cycle time efficiencies, cavitation, scrap reduction, and establishment of optimal process parameters.
- Support process improvement, cost reduction and correction actions teams.
- Provide technical support for daily processing activities.
- Assist in the set-up, repair, and troubleshooting of injection molding equipment.
- Follow all Environmental, health & safety as they apply to the facility & work area.
- Understand and follow the required safety guidelines such as lockout/tag out use of PPE.
Qualifications
Education, Experience, Certifications:
- Working towards a BS in Engineering with relevant coursework in Engineering/ Plastics Processing/ Manufacturing or a related field.
- Graduating between December 2027 and May 2029
- With a GPA of 3.0 or greater.
- You must have transportation.
- The position is required to work onsite daily.
- Possibility of housing provided by the local university.
Competencies, Skills, Knowledge:
- Prior plastics injection molding experience preferred.
- Familiar with all aspects of the scientific injection molding process.
- Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and database software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Team-oriented thinking with enthusiasm for continuous learning.
Travel, other requirements:
- Minimal or no travel.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or at any time in the future.
