Assistant Manager
Newbury | Full-Time, On-Site Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 basic + OTE £42,000
About is:
We've built our reputation on genuine local expertise and outstanding service across Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Hampshire, Wiltshire, and Gloucestershire, helping thousands of clients buy, sell, and rent the homes that matter to them.
We combine that heritage with a modern, connected approach — keeping our clients informed through active social media, and a popular fortnightly e-zine packed with market insight. It's this blend of tradition and innovation that keeps us at the heart of the communities we serve.
The Opportunity
We're looking for a driven, people-focused Assistant Manager to help lead our thriving Newbury branch. This is a fantastic next step for an experienced property professional ready to take on more responsibility, develop a team, and play a genuine role in shaping branch success — all while earning a strong basic salary with realistic, uncapped earning potential through OTE.
Working closely with the Branch Manager, you'll be right at the centre of the action — overseeing property listings, coordinating viewings, and managing busy sales and lettings pipelines. You'll help lead a talented branch team, championing exceptional customer service and smooth, professional operations from first enquiry through to completion.
Beyond day-to-day operations, you'll have the chance to make your mark: supporting marketing activity, mentoring and developing colleagues, tracking branch performance, and getting involved in local business development that raises our profile in the community.
What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting the Branch Manager with the smooth day-to-day running of the branch
- Overseeing property listings and coordinating viewings
- Managing sales and lettings pipelines to keep deals progressing
- Leading, motivating, and mentoring branch team members
- Maintaining the highest standards of customer service and communication with buyers, sellers, landlords, and tenants
- Ensuring accurate documentation and record-keeping
- Supporting marketing activity and monitoring branch performance
- Getting involved in local business development to help grow the branch's presence
What We're Looking For
- Experience in residential sales or lettings, with a solid understanding of estate agency processes and local market trends
- A natural relationship-builder — confident handling enquiries, negotiations, and resolving issues professionally
- Leadership qualities, with experience (or real potential) mentoring and supporting a team
- Strong organisational skills and comfort working with property management systems
- Clear, professional communication, both written and face-to-face
- A commercial mindset — always looking for opportunities to support growth
- Comfortable with everyday office software and online property platforms
- Previous experience as a senior negotiator or in a supervisory estate agency role is a strong advantage
- Relevant property qualifications and a valid driving licence are a bonus, but not essential
Why Join?
- Strong earning potential — £28,000–£32,000 basic with OTE of £42,000
- Join a business with almost 70 years of heritage and a trusted local name
- Genuine opportunity to step up into a leadership role and grow your career
- Be part of a supportive, close-knit team in a well-established branch
- Play a real part in shaping the success of your local community's property market
If you're ready to bring your property experience to a leadership role with real earning potential and room to grow, we'd love to hear from you.
