**This position is an onsite role and requires relocation to the York, Nebraska area.**

Summary:

The Director of Finance is responsible for directing and overseeing the daily operations of the Finance Department, including accounting, payroll, accounts payable, financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and related financial functions. Assists the Chief Financial Officer/Vice President with budgeting, financial analysis, audits, financial reporting, and organizational finance initiatives. Provides leadership and development for finance personnel, ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial information, and partners with organizational leaders to support operational, financial, and strategic objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Chief Financial Officer/Vice President with strategic financial planning, organizational budgeting, financial forecasting, capital planning, and oversight of the organization's financial operations, including month-end close activities, audits, and strategic finance initiatives.

  • Direct and oversee accounting, payroll, accounts payable, and other designated finance functions to ensure accurate, efficient, and compliant financial operations.

  • Provide leadership and supervision to finance personnel, including staffing coordination, performance management, employee development, competency assessment, and workforce planning.

  • Oversee the preparation, review, and distribution of monthly financial statements, management reports, regulatory filings, and other financial reports to support organizational decision-making.

  • Direct and monitor the reconciliation of corporate bank accounts and other key financial accounts to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records.

  • Prepare and review of quarterly and annual payroll tax reports, governmental filings, and other required financial reports to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

  • Establish, monitor, and evaluate internal controls, financial policies, and accounting procedures to safeguard organizational assets and ensure regulatory compliance.

  • Provide strategic financial leadership and consultation to organizational leaders regarding budgeting, financial performance, operational initiatives, and the achievement of departmental and organizational objectives.

  • Coordinate financial reporting and compliance activities for affiliated entities, including Home Care Plus, Home Health, and other assigned operations.

  • Monitor accounts receivable balances and collaborates with departments to address collection and reimbursement concerns.

  • Lead and participate in financial system implementations, upgrades, and process improvement initiatives.

  • Represent the Finance Department on committees, task forces, and organizational projects.

  • Assist the Chief Financial Officer/Vice President with quarterly Department Director finance and budget meetings.

  • Adhere to current policies, procedures, and standards.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), financial reporting, budgeting, payroll, accounts payable, internal controls, and healthcare finance operations.

  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local financial regulations and reporting requirements.

  • Demonstrated leadership, employee development, and team management skills.

  • Ability to establish effective working relationships.

  • Strong organizational, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial reporting systems, and accounting software applications.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise independent judgment in handling sensitive financial information.

Work Experience, Education, and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is required.

  • Minimum of five years of professional experience in accounting, accounts payable, payroll, or a related field is required.

  • Demonstrated management or supervisory experience is required.

Location and Physical Requirements:

  • This position is an onsite role and requires relocation to the York, Nebraska area.

  • This position operates in an office environment, occasionally performing work in other areas of the facility.

  • Those in this position must have the ability to be sedentary 95% of working day, with occasional walking and standing.
