Position Summary:
The Certified Dietary Manager will implement nutritional programs, ensure compliance with health regulations, and collaborate with the registered dietitian to ensure proper nutrition for our clients and residents. The ideal candidate will possess an optimistic outlook, have excellent communication skills (both written and oral), be flexible, be detail oriented, be a collaborative team player, and be willing to learn.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the dietary team to develop and prepare healthy meals for our rehabilitation clients and long term care residents.
- Creates and maintains a consist approach for nutrition operations across the company.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state food safety, sanitation, and HACCP standards across all phases of food handling, from receiving and storage through preparation, service, and transportation.
- Oversee daily meal preparation, portion control, menu implementation in alignment with health regulations and allergen controls.
- Order food supplies, manage inventory, and oversee large-scale food production.
- Perform routine nutrition screenings, document dietary requirements, and collaborate directly with our Dietitian to accommodate specific therapeutic diets and client needs.
- Utilize dietary management software to assist with menu design, cost control, recipe standardization, and nutritional compliance.
- Complete the assigned MDS section according to required timeline.
- Participate in regulatory agency surveys.
- Use evidence-based educational materials to teach clients and staff about basic diet information.
- Support Dietitian duties as needed.
Education and Certifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old (required)
- PCC experience (preferred)
- Certified Dietary Manager certification
Physical Demands/Working Conditions
- Ability to walk on indoor and outdoor surfaces (both even and uneven terrains) at speeds appropriate for community ambulation.
- Ability to squat or kneel to complete tasks at floor-level with good body mechanics.
- Ability to push and pull at least 60 pounds on level surfaces
- Ability to withstand extreme temperatures, hot and cold
- Ability to interact positively and professionally with people of all ages and abilities
- Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
Vaccination Considerations: Must commit to receiving annual flu vaccination
Schedule: Full time, Monday through Friday w/ occasional evening and weekend hours
Location: On-site (in-person)
