Description
We are working closely with Southern Housing to assist with the appointment of a Multi-Trade Operative,on a 3-months contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £17.72- £23.22 per hour
Summary:
The Multi-Trade Operative will be responsible for delivering high-quality responsive repairs, maintenance and property improvement works across the Council's housing and property portfolio. The role will primarily specialise in plumbing, with the flexibility to undertake a range of associated multi-trade maintenance tasks where required.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out responsive repairs, planned maintenance and property maintenance works, with a primary focus on plumbing.
- Undertake a range of associated multi-trade tasks within the limits of competence and relevant qualifications.
- Identify additional defects or maintenance requirements and report these through the appropriate procedures
- Communicate clearly with residents regarding the nature of repairs, work required and expected completion times.
- Ensure compliance with relevant building, plumbing, housing, health and safety and environmental requirements.
Qualifications:
- Relevant qualifications in additional trades, such as Carpentry, would be advantageous.
- Relevant asbestos awareness and working-at-height training would be advantageous.
Essentials:
- Proven experience working as a Plumber, Multi-Trade Operative or similar property maintenance professional.
- Practical experience of diagnosing and repairing plumbing faults.
- Experience of completing repairs efficiently and achieving a high first-time-fix rate.

- You should have right to work in U.K
- This role requires Standard DBS
