Senior Lead Application Developer

Nuveen, a subsidiary of TIAA, is seeking an experienced Senior Lead Application Developer to serve as the primary technical resource for application support on the Credit Analytics Performance team in the US. This role provides Level 2 (L2) application support for high-volume intraday operations, with escalation capability to Level 3 (L3) as needed. The successful candidate will collaborate cross-functionally with Operations and Infrastructure teams, liaise with Alt Credit technology teams (Leverage Finance, CLO, Private Fixed Income and Infrastructure Credit) covering operations, analytics, performance, portfolio management and deal management applications and contribute to technical design and migration of applications from on-premises environments to the cloud. This individual will also support day-to-day end to end activities starting from sourcing data to making portfolio management portals ready for investment teams, participate in bug fixes and enhancements, and help coordinate integration, testing, and deployment activities across multiple applications.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Serve as the primary point of contact in the US for managing application support for the Credit Analytics Performance team
• Provide L2 application support for high-volume intraday operations, escalating to and performing L3 support activities as required
• Demonstrate understanding of end-to-end data flow to effectively troubleshoot and resolve application issues
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations and Infrastructure, to support application performance and stability
• Liaise with Alternate Credit Business stakeholders and Application Product and Engineering teams to develop Technical Design documents, leveraging functional requirement documents and design specifications
• Support the migration of applications from on-premises infrastructure to cloud environments
• Maintain and support day-to-day operations of Portal Applications in collaboration with business and operations teams
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve application bugs; develop code for new enhancements to Portal Applications
• Document current-state technical workflows across relevant business areas and design end-to-end strategic workflows that meet business and operational needs
• Lead the preparation and coordination of integration testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and Build and Deploy activities across multiple applications, working with Business and Application Analysts to ensure timely and pragmatic issue resolution
• Provide accurate technical estimation details to Project Managers and Cloud Development Managers to support target deployment milestone planning

·        5+ years of professional experience in application support

·        5+ years of hands-on experience with Snowflake

·        5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS (Amazon Web Services)

·        Must have experience working within a trading environment

·        Experience with at least one or more of the following platforms: WSO Web, FactSet, Bloomberg PORT, CRD

 

 

Preferred Skills:

·        Experience with collateralized loan obligations (CLOs) or leveraged loans

·        Knowledge of compute, storage, networking, Linux, Azure AD, and NAS

·        AWS security experience (compliance, cloud security architecture, encryption/KMS/CloudHSM, PRISM Alerts, IAM)

·        Cloud-native architecture experience (AWS PaaS/SaaS, serverless, Lambda, API Gateway, AngularJS/React)

Base Pay Range: $128,000/yr - $174,000/yr

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.  In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
