This job is responsible for managing a group of employees who perform strategic analysis to understand portfolio risk, increase profitability, and optimize operational performance. Key responsibilities include determining strategic priorities for the team, identifying trends, and leading efforts to maximize risk versus return for the business unit. Job expectations include using data and analytics to solve complex problems, coaching and developing employees, and partnering across technology, product, and risk leadership to drive performance.
The Fraud Analytics and Innovation Leader is responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of fraud prevention and detection controls across strategic business initiatives, new products, and customer experiences. This role serves as the primary fraud subject matter expert throughout the project lifecycle, partnering with Product, Technology, Operations, Risk, Strategy, and Control functions to identify fraud risks, evaluate existing controls, design mitigating solutions, and ensure organizational readiness prior to deployment.
The successful candidate will influence enterprise-wide initiatives, provide thought leadership on fraud risk management, and drive execution from intake through go-live while balancing client experience, operational efficiency, and fraud loss prevention.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of fraud controls supporting strategic business initiatives and product enhancements.
- Assess fraud risk, identify control gaps, and develop solutions that balance risk mitigation, client experience, and operational efficiency.
- Serve as the primary fraud SME and project lead, driving initiatives from intake through implementation.
- Influence business, product, technology, and risk partners to align on fraud control strategies and requirements.
- Ensure organizational readiness through governance, testing oversight, stakeholder communication, and executive reporting
Required Qualifications:
- 4 year college degree or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of experience managing risk and/or fraud prevention
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills (ability to frame a complex problem, evaluate options, and develop a plan to address)
- Track record of being able to break complex problems down and develop a clear strategy / action plan.
- Experience influencing organizations and senior leadership to act on identified opportunities.
- Strong communication skills / ability to explain nuanced topics at right approach and level of detail to influence an audience.
- Proven track record of working across organizational lines to successfully drive projects from idea to execution.
Desired Qualifications:
- Prior experience in leading policy, strategy, analytics or initiative development in Fraud space.
- Prior experience in developing technology requirements for initiatives
- Proven track record of being able to drive projects from idea to execution.
- Prior Experience in building and facilitating executive level presentations
- Prior experience working in an Agile Project environment
- Working knowledge of Consumer and Small Business Products
