About the Role:
Working as a member of our EMEA IT AI Development Team, you will work on commercial AI and machine learning models that support our products, gain exposure to how generative AI systems are built, and help the team prototype custom GenAI agents alongside experienced engineers.
You will support real AI, machine learning and GenAI projects from exploration through to delivery, working with data and machine learning techniques to develop and evaluate models. You will build hands-on experience with both traditional machine learning and emerging GenAI technologies, while helping prototype AI solutions that address real business needs in a real-world healthcare environment.
Starting in October 2026, this is a full-time Graduate Programme role based on-site in Milan, Italy.
Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Support the AI Development Team on real AI, machine learning and GenAI projects from exploration through to delivery.
- Work with data and machine learning techniques to develop and evaluate models.
- Build hands-on experience with both traditional machine learning and emerging GenAI technologies.
- Help prototype AI solutions that address real business needs.
- Work closely with experienced AI developers and data scientists through coding, reviews and team discussions.
- Gain experience developing AI solutions in a real-world healthcare environment.
What Are We Looking For In You:
- Have completed a bachelor´s or master´s degree in Data Science, Engineering, Maths, or a related field, or equivalent.
- Ideally one year of related professional experience.
- Fluency in English (B2+/C1)
- Have one AI or machine learning project you understand well and can talk through in detail.
- Have a solid grasp of data science fundamentals and core machine learning algorithms.
- Have working knowledge of Python and common machine learning libraries such as pandas or scikit-learn.
- Be curious about GenAI and large language models, and how they are built.
- Exposure to healthcare, life sciences, or other regulated industries is a plus.
- Experience with Git/GitHub and collaborative development practices is a plus.
- Exposure to AWS or Azure, particularly for data, AI, or machine learning workloads is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with GenAI development, such as LLMs, RAG, AI agents, or relevant frameworks and SDK is a plus.
