  • Direct cross-functional teams of application analysts, clinical informaticists, technical build teams, consultants, and other implementation resources.
  • Establish and oversee project governance, including steering committees, workflow validation sessions, decision-making processes, and change controls.
  • Partner with clinical and operational leadership to optimize workflows for Epic and ensure alignment with organizational care delivery models.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, staffing plans, implementation milestones, dependencies, and overall project performance.
  • Manage relationships with Epic representatives, vendors, subcontractors, staffing partners, and other third-party resources.
  • Lead organizational change management, communication, and training strategies to drive successful end-user adoption.
  • Ensure implementation activities comply with applicable data governance, security, HIPAA, CMS, and other healthcare regulatory requirements.
  • Provide clear and timely project updates, risk assessments, and recommendations to executive sponsors and steering committees.
  • Lead go-live readiness, command center operations, issue escalation, and post-live stabilization efforts.
  • Collaborate closely with senior clinical and IT leadership to resolve complex implementation challenges and maintain alignment across stakeholders.

Requirements

Requirements

  • 8+ years of progressive healthcare IT experience, including at least 5 years leading large-scale Epic implementations.
  • Demonstrated experience managing full Epic implementation lifecycles across inpatient, ambulatory, revenue cycle, or a combination of Epic applications.
  • Experience leading Epic implementations within academic medical centers, safety-net hospitals, large integrated health systems, or similarly complex healthcare environments.
  • Strong understanding of clinical workflows, healthcare operations, and the technical and operational considerations associated with enterprise EHR implementations.
  • Proven ability to lead large, cross-functional teams and manage relationships with executive-level clinical, operational, and IT stakeholders.
  • Experience managing complex project budgets, implementation schedules, staffing plans, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Strong organizational change management and end-user adoption experience.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and executive communication skills, including the ability to translate complex technical concepts for clinical and business audiences.
  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field required; MHA, MBA, MPH, or other relevant advanced degree preferred.
  • Epic certification or previous Epic certification in one or more relevant modules strongly preferred.
  • PMP or comparable project management certification preferred.
  • Experience working with public health systems, safety-net institutions, county or government healthcare organizations preferred.
  • Previous experience working within a consulting or staff augmentation environment preferred.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid setting in Chicago, IL, including on-site presence as required throughout the implementation and go-live.
