Overview
Scope of Position
The Lounge Server plays an essential role in creating a calm, welcoming, and polished experience for guests in the Tamo Bar and Lounge. During peak hours, your pleasant demeanor, attentiveness, and ability to anticipate guest needs contribute significantly to the hotel’s reputation for quality service. You will also assist with guest seating and provide thoughtful, diplomatic suggestions for food and beverage selections to enhance satisfaction and drive repeat business.
Schedule Requirements
This position includes a combination of morning, afternoon, and evening shifts, with regular weekend availability required. Holidays will be scheduled based on business needs.
Due to the cyclical nature of hospitality, flexibility is essential. Participation in “all hands” events may be required.
The hotel operates 24/7, including holidays, and the company strives to support work–life balance.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Warmly greet guests and engage in proactive, friendly communication while providing food and beverage service.
- Take food and beverage orders and accurately enter them into the POS system.
- Stock service stations with items such as ice, napkins, glassware, and straws.
- Check on guests throughout service to ensure satisfaction and address any requests or concerns.
- Refill beverages, clear plates, and reset tables quickly and neatly.
- Ensure all food is prepared correctly and to guest satisfaction; promptly return any incorrect or improperly prepared items to the kitchen.
- Follow all cash‑handling and bank operating procedures.
- Present guest checks and process payments quickly and accurately.
- Complete all side‑work duties as assigned on daily side‑work sheets.
- Participate in pre‑shift meetings and required trainings.
- Inform guests of enhancements or upsell opportunities during their visit.
- Collaborate with fellow Food & Beverage team members to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Maintain awareness of guest satisfaction scores and work toward increasing departmental and overall hotel satisfaction.
- Execute self‑cashiering responsibilities, including balancing and reconciling shift income per policy.
- Support bartenders by maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the bar and lounge.
- Proactively merchandise food and beverage items to increase sales and elevate the guest experience.
- Maintain knowledge of repeat guest preferences and personalize service accordingly.
- Stay informed about in‑house groups, VIP guests, and daily events; carry the daily event summary for reference.
- Assist guests in finding appropriate seating in the lounge and bar area.
- Practice, model, and promote the hotel’s Mission and Values as part of daily operations.
- Perform additional duties or special projects as assigned by Management.

- First Aid and CPR certification (or ability to obtain).
- ServSafe and TiPS certification (or ability to obtain).

Qualifications
Qualifications
Experience:
- Previous experience in a restaurant setting preferred.
- Extensive Food and Beverage knowledge essential.
- Must meet the legal age requirement to serve alcohol.
- Prior experience passionately providing food and beverage service to others preferred.
Education:
- High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or international equivalent preferred.
Skills:
- Fluency in the English language is strongly preferred; ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage guests in a warm, professional, and attentive manner.
- Ability to multitask and remain effective in high‑volume, fast‑paced environments.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.
- Flexibility—hospitality is a demanding but fun industry, and flexibility with workdays and hours is essential.
- Knowledge of basic restaurant terminology and food service techniques preferred.
- Required certifications: Alcohol service (e.g., TiPS) and Food Handler/Food Safety certification (e.g., ServSafe).
- A genuine “people person” who loves creating experiences that exceed guest expectations.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy and poise under pressure.
