Position Summary

The Cinematographer serves as the lead camera operator and video production specialist for the Commercial Music Program. This position produces high-quality video content including music videos, documentaries, promotional materials, live performances, and multi-camera broadcasts.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as lead camera operator for music videos, concerts, documentaries, interviews, and promotional content.
  •  Help set up and operate the program's ten-camera broadcast center for live productions and mentor other students
  • Capture high-quality video and audio for productions.
  • Edit video projects and assist with post-production workflows.
  • Maintain and organize camera equipment and production gear.
  • Collaborate with faculty, students, and marketing staff on creative projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Valid Drivers License and Clean Driving Record required
     

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience operating Sony FX3 cinema cameras.
  • Proficiency with DaVinci Resolve & Adobe suite  
  • Knowledge of professional camera operation, lighting, and composition.
  • Experience with multi-camera live production workflows.  
  • Strong creative storytelling and visual communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to meet production deadlines.

  • Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program or Master’s program. 
  • Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
  • Maintain good financial standing with the University.

Pay Rate: Minimum Wage
