Summary:

The HR Service Center Specialist supports Rogers Behavioral Health System’s vision “to deliver the highest quality behavioral health services with the best outcomes in the United States” by providing Tier 1 support to employees regarding human resources related questions.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Respond to employee questions and inquiries about employee benefit programs and human resources policies.

  • Provide assistance with disability, health, and life benefits, paid time off, and retirement plans.

  • Provide support regarding Human Resource Information System (HRIS) self-service including login support and issue resolution.

  • Process HR data transactions that are not able for completion through employee or manager self-service.

  • Support the hiring process through collection and entry of new hire information into the Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).

  • Support new employee orientation including enrollment in time keeping system, collecting new hire paperwork, etc.

  • Complete personnel file audits and keep accurate personnel file face sheets to ensure all required paperwork is on file.

Maintain Human Resource records including:

  • Timely and accurate entering and maintenance of employee information into HRIS (Workday).

  • Assist in maintaining personnel records to ensure compliance with state, federal, and Joint Commission regulations.

  • Monitor personnel records for consistency with Hospital philosophy and provisions relating to hiring, job requirements and orientation materials.

  • Responsible for departmental filing duties, providing for timely and accurate filing of both general departmental documentation and employee record information.

  • Work closely with third party vendors for coordination of recruitment, background check screening and Employment Verifications.

  • Report to the HR Service Center Manager and communicate errors and/or issues within the HRIS and/or related to data entry/feeds.

  • Consult with the HR Service Center Manager and provide feedback regarding employment issues and concerns to ensure proper procedures are enforced within related areas of responsibility.

  • Responsible for the accurate and timely completion of activities related to maintaining compliance with regulatory standards including, but not limited to, licensing, job descriptions, monthly delinquency reporting and criminal background checks required by the state and other regulatory agencies.

Responsible for the accurate and complete maintenance of applicable employee credential and licensing records.
  • Driver license records, including annual renewal.

  • Monthly BID report via PIE system.

  • Criminal background checks; 4-year renewal.

  • Professional licenses.

  • Monthly delinquency report.

Conduct training on related Human Resource topics, as requested.

Promote department goals and the Mission of the Hospital.

  • Communicate goals to fellow staff members.

  • Demonstrate measurable goal achievement.

  • Maintain department policies and procedures.

  • Include requirements and guidelines from external agencies; i.e., Joint Commission and State.

  • Maintain and/or communicate to appropriate party the function backlog at a set time.

  • Educate new staff regarding regulations or requirements of those functions that relate to their areas or departments, as directed.

  • Demonstrate acceptance and training of student interns in the department, as directed.

Demonstrate understanding of Joint Commission and other regulatory agency compliance regulations.
  • Involve self in the learning and application of standards relevant to the Human Resources department.

  • Participate in in-services/seminars, and other meetings to increase involvement and awareness of regulations.

  • Involve self in the education of other disciplines regarding Human Resources department regulations.

Participate in Hospital committees, Performance Improvement team meetings and team projects, as directed.
  • Demonstrate punctuality and preparedness.

  • Demonstrate effective communication skills and good organizational skills.

  • Contribute in a positive, solution-focused manner.

Participate in the Performance Improvement (PI) program.
  • Gain understanding of the PI process.

  • Apply the PI model to your department’s activities.

  • Participate in and/or create PI teams that lead to improvement in other Hospital areas.

  • Educate and involve self in the Hospital and Human Resources department’s PI plans.

Conduct self in a professional manner.
  • Demonstrate organizational skills that promote timely response to all inquiries and to task completion.

  • Communicate with all individuals in a positive and professional manner.

  • Attempt to resolve individual issues with peers in a positive, calm manner, with a focus on solution.

  • Communicate concerns and provide solutions for same.

  • Attend outside seminars to promote professional growth.

  • Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude toward parties outside the Hospital (patients’ families, visitors, vendors, etc.).

  • Comply with the Hospital’s policies and procedures, including Human Resources, Infection Control, and Employee Health policies and programs.

  • Project a professional image by wearing appropriate, professional attire.

    • Walking, sitting and standing is required. Lifting is moderate; must be capable of lifting a minimum of 20 pounds. Reaching, handling, grasping and manual dexterity are necessary to operate various pieces of office equipment. Stooping, bending, kneeling and flexible movements are required.
    • Verbal and hearing abilities are required to interact with employees.


    Education/Training Requirements:

    • Two (2) years of Human Resources experience required, preferably in healthcare or HR service center
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft® Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.
    • Working knowledge of HRIS/payroll system.
